The Coral Court .. St. Louis, MO ... I recorded this in Aug.,1994.
Coral Court Motel .. St. Louis, MO
I recorded this in Aug.,1994, just months before the demo began on it.
It was completly taken down in 1995.
...... Never seen before footage.
Maybe, the last video of this Route 66 Icon.
... There always was a feeling that somebody was watching me as drove around the complex.
In the rear of the complex my van stopped running for no reason.
It was like a 1950s horror movie was about to begin ...
I got the van started again and continued around the back where the newer, 1960s style buildings were ...
Back there, there was a swimming pool, filled with swamp water and it really smelled bad.
I got a weird feeling that there maybe a body in there ... and i didn't look! ..
The rooms in the back seeemed to be used for sleeping quarters for possibly homeless people. .......
....... I scored the music to go along with the feelings i was having.
........
THANKS FOR WATCHING!

St. Louis, Missouri: Gateway to the West | Traveling Robert
In this week's video we are visiting St. Louis, Missouri: The Gateway to the West.
As it is our tradition lately we are going to do the most important or touristy thing first, and then work our way down in order of priority. The undisputed winner in this city is the Gateway Arch, an engineering and architectural marvel. It is the tallest arch in the world and the tallest monument in the western hemisphere. Its catenary shape makes it perfectly balanced on the ground. It has a unique elevator system that is actually a closer cousin to a Ferris wheel. Due to the nature of the arch a traditional vertical elevator was impractical so they designed this unique contraption for such purpose.
After aimlessly wandering a nearly deserted downtown we decided to visit what is arguably the next best known landmark here: The Anheuser-Busch brewery. They have an excellent complimentary tour in which you visit the Clydesdales and their historic stable, the aging cellar, the also historic brew house and then you get free beer.
After our beer drinking extravaganza we felt it was only appropriate to sample some authentic St. Louis Barbecue, so we went to Pappy's Smokehouse, which didn't disappoint. For desert we decided to try another St. Louis staple, frozen custard. For that we went to Ted Drewes Frozen Custard, in the Dutchtown neighborhood. The area doesn't have the best reputation when it comes to crime rate, but we had no problems.
We stayed two nights at the Casino Queen RV Park, just across the river in East St. Louis, Illinois. From here we continued towards our next destination: Memphis, Tennessee. On the way there we had lunch at another unique and iconic restaurant called Lambert's Cafe, Home of the Throwed Rolls. Eventually we made it our destination, the Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River RV Park in West Memphis, Arkansas.
I hope you enjoy this week's video. See you on the next destination.

Frozen custard is a cold dessert similar to ice cream, but made with eggs in addition to cream and sugar. It is usually kept at a warmer temperature compared to ice cream, and typically has a denser consistency.
Egg yolks have been integrated into ice creams since at least the 1690s, though there are several notable invention stories that are associated with modern commercializations of this practice.
One early commercialization of frozen custard was in Coney Island, New York in 1919, when ice cream vendors Archie and Elton Kohr found that adding egg yolks to ice cream created a smoother texture and helped the ice cream stay cold longer. In their first weekend on the boardwalk, they sold 18,460 cones.
A frozen custard stand at the 1933 World's Fair in Chicago introduced the dessert to a wider audience. Following the fair, the dessert's popularity spread throughout the Midwest; Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in particular, became known as the unofficial frozen custard capital of the world.
Per capita, Milwaukee has the highest concentration of frozen custard shops in the world and the city supports a long-standing three-way competition between Kopp's Frozen Custard, Gilles Frozen Custard and Leon's Frozen Custard.
Frozen custard chains in the United States include Culver's, headquartered in Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin, with outlets in 20 states; Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, based in Wichita, Kansas, with more than 300 locations nationwide; Andy's Frozen Custard, based in Springfield, Missouri, with over 30 locations; Ted Drewes Frozen Custard in St. Louis and Abbott's Frozen Custard in Rochester, New York.
In the U.S., the Food and Drug Administration requires products marketed as frozen custard to contain at least 10 percent milkfat and 1.4 percent egg yolk solids. If it has a smaller percentage of egg yolk solids, it is considered ice cream.
True frozen custard is a very dense dessert. Soft serve ice creams may have an overrun as large as 100%, meaning half of the final product is composed of air. Frozen custard, when made in a continuous freezer will have an overrun of 15–30% depending on the machine manufacturer (an overrun percentage similar to gelato). Air is not pumped into the mix, nor is it added as an ingredient but gets into the frozen state by the agitation of liquid similar to whisking a meringue. The high percentage of butterfat and egg yolk gives frozen custard a thick, creamy texture and a smoother consistency than ice cream. Frozen custard can be served at −8 °C (18 °F), warmer than the −12 °C (10 °F) at which ice cream is served, in order to make a soft serve product.
Another difference between commercially produced frozen custard and commercial ice cream is the way the custard is frozen. The mix enters a refrigerated tube and, as it freezes, blades scrape the product cream off the barrel walls. The now frozen custard is discharged directly into containers from which it can be served. The speed with which the product leaves the barrel minimizes the amount of air in the product but more importantly ensures that the ice crystals formed are very small.

The Truth About Dairy Queen's Famous Blizzard Finally Revealed
There are few fast food desserts as decadent, satisfying, and dependable as the Blizzard. But you might be surprised to learn that this frozen treat technically didn't originate from Dairy Queen, and that it's not even ice cream.
Delicious soft serve with candies and cookies blended into the mix is pretty much definitely going to be a surefire hit no matter what you call it. In 1985, Dairy Queen was already a success story with a 40-year-long history of ice cream treats like banana splits and Dilly bars. But that year the chain added a menu item that would forever alter its history.
Obviously, that item is the Blizzard, and when it debuted, people couldn't get enough of it. The Blizzard rolled out in Dairy Queen locations in 1985, and by 1986 the company was projecting to sell 175 million Blizzards, almost twice what it sold in the first year. Dairy Queen's president at the time, Harris Cooper, called it, quote, the biggest thing that has happened to Dairy Queen in the last 25 years. Considering just how popular DQ's Blizzards still are more than 30 years later, it's fair to say that Cooper was spot-on with his assessment.
The Blizzard wasn't invented in some high-rise boardroom or fancy fast food think tank, but rather, by a Dairy Queen franchise holder in Missouri. One of the company's most successful franchisees, Samuel Temperato owned 67 locations in the St. Louis area at the time of the Blizzard's creation. He would eventually expand his ice cream empire to 81 Dairy Queens.
Although Temperato took credit for bringing the Blizzard to Dairy Queen's senior executives and held a patent on the Blizzard machine, he somewhat disagreed with DQ officials dubbing him the Blizzard's inventor. He made sure to give credit where credit was due, and as far back as 1986, he wanted to make sure the public knew that the spark for creating what would become the Blizzard actually came from a Dairy Queen competitor.
That competitor was Ted Drewes Jr., who ran the popular Ted Drewes Frozen Custard stands, which are still in business today. Drewes' popular item that helped him compete with Dairy Queen was his frozen custard concrete. He didn't add candy to his custard, but Temperato saw the value in such an addition, and thus, the Blizzard was born.
Keep watching the video to find the truth about Dairy Queen’s famous Blizzard.
