The Most Radioactive Places on Earth
Who on Earth is exposed to the most ionizing radiation?
Check out Audible:
I'm filming a documentary for TV about how Uranium and radioactivity have shaped the modern world. It will be broadcast in mid-2015, details to come. The filming took me to the most radioactive places on Earth (and some places, which surprisingly aren't as radioactive as you'd think). Chernobyl and Fukushima were incredible to see as they present post-apocalyptic landscapes. I also visited nuclear power plants, research reactors, Marie Curie's institute, Einstein's apartment, nuclear medicine areas of hospitals, uranium mines, nuclear bomb sites, and interviewed numerous experts.
Notes about measuring radiation:
Sieverts are a measure of 'effective dose' - that means they measure the biological impact of the energy transferred to tissues from radiation.
Obviously I owe a debt to the fantastic chart made by xkcd, which inspired my visual approach to this video.
DOSES MAY VARY
The level of radiation varies widely around the world depending mainly on altitude and geology (excluding nuclear accidents).
Estimates of particular doses also vary. All numbers reported in this video should be taken as order of magnitude only.
The most contentious claim may be that smokers receive the highest dose of ionizing radiation. This is not a whole body dose, but a dose to the lungs as specified in the video. References are here:

Edel L.'s Review on The Dyrt:
▶︎ Wonderful sunsets on Lake Winnebago
Our first time camping here and it is a real treasure. Very spacious campsites close to or on the water. There is a marina if you have a boat, and the fishing is supposedly excellent. Expensive playground areas with picnic, grills, and fire pits. Lots of bird life to observe on the water and deer in the wooded areas.
There is a bar and grill at the entrance to the park and it is open for lunch and dinner. A few miles away in the village of Stockbridge there is an excellent coffee shop with breakfast and lunch options.

Jennifer S.'s Review on The Dyrt:
▶︎ Great for groups
The sites on the lake are huge! They are perfect for going with groups of people (Cook on one, set up Games on the other, and you can easily fit two cars out of sight a tent everything… ) however the sites do not have any privacy - the only wooded part is shoreline.
I have a very nice check in/camp store it’s brand new. The main shower house bathrooms are very clean very nice except you have to pay for the shower. Rest of the restaurants throughout this campground our pets toilets.

This is not the best campground I’ve been to but it’s definitely not the worst in fact I go every year with a A group with small kids.

Clarks Summit Gift Shops
In the quaint town of Clarks Summit.Pa., you'll find wonderful gift shops that will thrill and delight you and make your day a very unique shopping experience. But one of the most enchanting Clarks Summit Gift Shops happens to lay nestled on 410 S.State St, right next to O'Boyle Real Estate and the shop is called Cloe And Company.
When you step inside this wonderful gift shop in Clarks Summit, you'll find yourself amongst a delightful array of products and gifts that have just a bit of a twist to them. And here is what I mean. Unlike the many cookie cutter types of gift shops that you might have at one time or another shopped, Cloe And Company has made the commitment to carry ONLY products that are made in the U.S.A and ONLY products that are made by local artists and crafters. And after you wander through this incredible gift shop, I think you will come to the conclusion that Cloe And Company indeed stands head and shoulders above the competition.
No longer will you be confronted with the same 'ole products that seem to be everywhere when you want a special gift for someone in your life. Oh no! Besides the one of a kind gifts from local artists, you'll also find a delicious variety of organic products to thrill your taste buds. In other words, there is something for everybody at Cloe And Company! Now don't just take my word for it! Go see for yourself! Cloe And Company is conveniently opened Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 4:30pm and on Wednesday from 10am to 7:30pm.

Jennifer S.'s Review on The Dyrt:
▶︎ Relaxation not too far from the City
The tent sites are a great size and semi private (you can have a conversation and not be heard at other sites). The bathroom and showers are decent and cleaned daily around 6 am. There are reservable and walk-in sites. The sites also have extra parking across from them.
There is a lot to do for kids a great play area, swimming, fishing, boating etc. There are hiking trails but not a lot.
The couple I went with had issues with the site next to them ( loud inappropriate language and using drugs) the rangers responded quickly and efficiently!
I have been there summer and late spring.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Milwaukee (, locally ) is the largest city in the state of Wisconsin and the fifth-largest city in the Midwestern United States. The seat of the eponymous county, it is on Lake Michigan's western shore. Ranked by its estimated 2014 population, Milwaukee was the 31st largest city in the United States. The city's estimated population in 2017 was 595,351. Milwaukee is the main cultural and economic center of the Milwaukee metropolitan area which had a population of 2,043,904 in the 2014 census estimate. It is the third-most densely populated metropolitan area in the Midwest, surpassed only by Chicago and Detroit, respectively .Milwaukee is considered a Gamma global city as categorized by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network with a regional GDP of over $105 billion.
The first Europeans to pass through the area were French Catholic Jesuit missionaries, who were ministering to Native Americans, and fur traders. In 1818, the French Canadian explorer Solomon Juneau settled in the area, and in 1846, Juneau's town combined with two neighboring towns to incorporate as the city of Milwaukee. Large numbers of German immigrants arrived during the late 1840s, after the German revolutions, with Poles and other eastern European immigrants arriving in the following decades. Milwaukee is known for its brewing traditions, begun with the German immigrants.
Beginning in the early 21st century, the city has been undergoing its largest construction boom since the 1960s. Major new additions to the city in the past two decades include the Milwaukee Riverwalk, the Wisconsin Center, Miller Park, The Hop (streetcar system), an expansion to the Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, and Pier Wisconsin, as well as major renovations to the UW–Milwaukee Panther Arena. The Fiserv Forum opened in late 2018.
