The green way - L'avenue verte

French food is ridiculous! We had some unbelievable food and tried some classically french dishes. We actually were blown away especially by one of the restaurants we went to, and bowed in respect to their rich history and ability to cook. YUM!

6 Rue Coquilliere, Paris
This restaurant has been around for the LONGEST time; they literally have not closed their doors since 1947. They are a 24 hour restaurant, but we went for lunch instead of in the wee hours. Everyone around us was eating the same thing; we enjoyed ourselves but it wasn’t the greatest. We think we didn’t really understand the dishes that were popular there (a little bit too out there maybe?) but it was a fun experience!
We had:
Soupe a l’oignon gratinee (french onion soup) (9 Euros): It was a flavourful onion brothy type soup topped with like a floating cloud of CHEESE. It was yummy in small doses but there was no way we could finish it even though we shared! Our french counterparts around us demolished one of these each though!
Escargot (9.50 Euros for 6): If the thought of snails creeps you out, know that the French cook them with LOTS of delicious garlic butter so it’s downright tasty.
Pied de cochon grille bernaise (21.50 Euros): So this is a specialty in this restaurant that serves all things pork, but gosh we didn’t know how to eat this! Served as a big pig trotter, it looked tasty enough but cutting in, a trotter is mainly cartilage and fat and we were a little unaccustomed and creeped out by it. We nibbled on bits but it wasn’t quite our cup of tea!
– Le Relais De l’Entrecote –

15 Rue Marbeuf, Paris
This was the best experience! A restaurant that serves ONE DISH; steak frites with special green sauce. (26.50 Euros per person) It comes in 2 rounds so that they keep the steak hot, and everything is sooooo tasty. If you want something else, too bad haha they only serve one thing. Come hungry and don’t you dare refuse the second round of steak!
– Auberge Pyrenees Cevennes –
We came here to try the duck cassoulet but didn’t really record any sound or anything. It came in this giant pot and they give you SO MUCH FOOD. The duck comes cooked like 4 ways, some of it’s braised, some of it has more texture but it’s a very famous and delicious comfort food dish.
We also had their creme brulee which was BOMB here!!!
– Josephine Chez Dumonet –

117 Rue du Cherche-Midi, Paris
Alright. It’s hard to put into words what this place was to us. You can probably see it in our faces that we were a bit dumbfounded and speechless as we enjoyed this meal. It was the best meal we had potentially over every country we went to, and we would go back to Paris just to eat here again. That’s saying a lot! Book in advance, you don’t wanna miss out.
We had:
Duck Confit: the most perfect duck we’ve ever had. It really sounds like we’re exaggerating but we’re not. It was SO good; the fatty deliciousness and melt in your mouth tastiness.
Beef Bourgignon: we honestly thought this was going to be just like any beef stew. We remember even saying how good could it really be? Famous last words really. They serve it with pasta which was the perfect accompaniment as it stuck to all the sauce and didn’t overpower the dish. Yum.
Grand Marnier Souffle: like eating air clouds. It tasted like an alcoholic meringue but it disappeared the second you put it in your mouth. We haven’t eaten that many souffles in our lifetime, but this one set the standard too high.
Can’t recommend enough!!!
Love,
Uel & Shannelle

LOST In the Mountains of Catalonia | Spain to Paris France by Bus
Catalonia is a beautiful autonomous region of Northern Spain full of mountains, Vineyards , and ruins. Instead of getting a ride to the ocean to Llançà. We thought the best way to experience it would be by foot through the valley. We wanted to get lost on our own and go on a full day adventure exploring this beautiful place! However, it turned out to be a little TOO adventurous for us but we made it and then hoped on a bus to France.

Paris, France Garbage Truck!
Here is a truck collecting trash in Paris, France! This was a pretty fun video to film. Was really interesting how people set out large pieces of wood. It was fun to watch them collect the piles of fruit crates as well. All the carts here are OPs so that’s pretty cool. Anyway hope you all enjoy!

Places to see in ( Paris - France ) Esplanade des Invalides
Places to see in ( Paris - France ) Esplanade des Invalides
The Esplanade des Invalides is a vast green area of Paris created in the early xviii th century. Located between the Place des Invalides and the Quai d'Orsay , it highlights the north facade of the hotel des Invalides. This road owes its name to the Hôtel des Invalides to which it leads.
In 1704, the part of the Pré-aux-Clercs called the Prés-Saint-Germain was transformed, according to the plans of the architect Robert de Cotte , in a vast rectangular square sowed with lawns and lined with several rows of trees. The original purpose of this space was to make a vegetable garden where war invalids could grow, and also meet Parisian. In this way, veterans were not reclusive despite their disability.
This esplanade stretched from the Place des Invalides to University Street and its center was marked by the crossing of two lanes, the Avenue des Invalides, today avenue du Maréchal-Gallieni ,rue Saint-Dominique whose western part (called Saint-Dominique au Gros-Caillou) and the eastern part (called Saint-Dominique-Saint-Germain) would be reunited in 1838. This intersection was occupied by a roundabout which welcomed, between 1804 and 1840, the fountain of the Invalides . Under a decree of December 4, 1720 to improve the neighborhood Gros-Caillou , the esplanade was extended north to the Quai d'Orsay.
The Esplanade des Invalides was the scene of major official events, such as the feast of August 10, 1793, the industry exhibition in 1806 or the ceremony of the return of the ashes of Napoleon December 15, 1840. On the occasion From the first of these manifestations, a gigantic but ephemeral statue of the French people represented in Hercules slaying the hydra of federalism was raised in the center of the esplanade. It symbolized the recent triumph of the Mountain over its political enemies ( Girondins and Federalists ) and the Marais . During the Ash Return Ceremony, the esplanade was lined with stands designed to receive36,000 spectators and the avenue was decorated with thirty-two statues of illustrious men.
On the occasion of the universal exhibition of 1900 , during which it was lined with temporary pavilions, the esplanade was connected to the Champs-Élysées thanks to the construction of the Alexandre III bridge . It was at this same time that the Invalides station was built which, transformed into an airport terminal for Orly in 1948 and connected to the RER C in 1979, would become a multimodal transport node.
( Paris - France ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Paris . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Paris - France
