From September 26, 2017 to February 2, 2018.
I had a rewarding experience living in the United States like a local resident while learning, embracing, and experiencing the Minnesota culture first-hand, including preparing and cooking my own meals. I gained valuable experience living independently in a foreign country. Plus, I also have gained global friendship and created a memorable time with my colleagues while we were having some exciting activities.

The MOST LIBERAL CITIES in AMERICA
Do you live in a mostly liberal city? Today, we’re going to talk about the liberal cities with the highest population of residents who vote democrat. You probably won't be surprised when you see most of them.
10. Minneapolis, Minnesota
We begin our tour of the most liberal cities in America in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This is a bit of a surprise, since many reports have been written about how Minnesota is trending more and more republican over the last decade.
9. Portland, Oregon
Continuing our tour of America’s most liberal cities, we come to Portland, Oregon. Of course Portland’s on here. It’s actually surprising Portland isn’t higher on this list. That says a lot about how liberal the cities are coming up.
8. New Orleans, Louisiana
We’re going to the deep south for our next city, surprisingly, as we come to New Orleans, Louisiana. New Orleans may come as a surprise, since it’s in the deep south. But the population here is very poor and minority driven, both of which tend to vote liberal in droves.
7. Boston, Massachusetts
We’re going to go up the east coast for the first - but not last time, as we come to our 7th most liberal city in America, Boston.
Here in Boston, 81% of the population is liberal. Additionally, democratic supporters donated the 10th highest number of money, per capita, to liberal causes. And, technically, Massachusetts is the second most liberal state in America, behind California.
6. St. Louis, Missouri
Our next stop along our liberal tour of America brings us to St. Louis. This might also come as a surprise to many, but in fact, 80% of the population votes democrat.
St. Louis citizens have voted Democratic Mayor Francis F. Slay into office since 2001, making him the longest-serving mayor in the city’s history.
5. Seattle, Washington
We’re gonna go back to the west coast again, as we come to our 5th most liberal city in the US, Seattle. Of course Seattle is on this list.
Now, politically, Seattle votes left for sure. But socially, Seattle might be the most liberal of all.
4. New York City
Back to the east coast we go - are we seeing a pattern here? As we come to our 4th most liberal city in the US of A - New York City. Here in NYC, the liberal support is at about 82%.
New York’s current democratic mayor, Bill De Blasio, isn’t really liked by New Yorkers, despite the fact that the New York economy is doing well and crime is really low.
3. Washington, DC
Alright we have one more east coast city to talk about before we head back to the west coast for good. Let’s talk about Washington DC.
Nationally, 23 percent of American adults call themselves liberals, and 38 percent call themselves conservatives. But in Washington, D.C., 39 percent call themselves liberals - which is 65.6 percent higher than the nation as a whole.
2. Berkeley, California
So we finally make our way back to the west coast, and of course, we knew we were going to see California cities on this list. Our second to last stop is in the bay area, and Berkeley.
Here in Berkeley, the liberal support is 84% and seems to be growing. One study said liberals outnumber conservatives 10 to 1 here. In addition, the number of dollars donated to liberal causes is third in America here, and the number of Berkeleyites who donated to liberal agendas was first in the US.
1. San Francisco, California
Alright it’s time for our last more liberal city in America. We don’t have to go too far. Just cross the Oakland Bay Bridge.
The liberal support in San Francisco is 86%. People in San Francisco brag about how liberal they are just like they do across the bridge in Berkeley.
