The Paul Revere House in Boston Massachusetts
The house of Paul Revere (Paul Revere House) was built around 1680, being currently the oldest building in downtown Boston.
In his celebrated ride at midnight on April 18, 1775 Revere gave notice to Samuel Adams and John Hancock that the English were coming to Lexington with the intention of arresting them. It is also said that along the way he was alerting people to the cry of The British are coming!.
Paul Revere, in addition to helping to organize a system of espionage and alarms to help the troops, was a prosperous colonial Boston goldsmith.
The house of Paul Revere belongs to the historical patrimony of the United States and at the moment a museum works.

This National Historic Landmark is the home from which silversmith Paul Revere, in 1775, set out on his famous midnight ride to warn his compatriots that the British were coming. You can view the colonial furnishings and the famous Revere silver, including a 90-pound bell in the back yard.

It is located at 19 North Square, Boston, Massachusetts, in the city's North End, and is now operated as a nonprofit museum by the Paul Revere Memorial Association. A small admission fee is charged...Paul Revere (December 21, 1734 -- May 10, 1818) was an American silversmith, early industrialist, and a patriot in the American Revolution. He is most famous for alerting Colonial militia of approaching British forces before the battles of Lexington and Concord, as dramatized in Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's poem, Paul Revere's Ride. Revere was a prosperous and prominent Boston silversmith, who helped organize an intelligence and alarm system to keep watch on the British military. Revere later served as a Massachusetts militia officer, though his service culminated after the Penobscot Expedition, one of the most disastrous campaigns of the American Revolutionary War, for which he was absolved of blame. Following the war, Revere returned to his silversmith trade and used the profits from his expanding business to finance his work in iron casting, bronze bell and cannon casting, and the forging of copper bolts and spikes. You can visit Paul Revere's home at 19 North Square in Boston's North End neighborhood. The patriot silversmith lived with his family here from 1770 to approximately 1800, when he sold the building. It was converted to a tenement, with businesses (including a cigar factory) on the bottom floor. Hundreds of poor immigrants lived there in the 19th century, when the North End, on Boston Harbor, was home to waves of immigrants; Irish, Jews, Portuguese, Germans, Italians and others.

The Freedom Trail winds its way around the city, connecting 16 historically significant sites. These are the very places where history unfolded: from the first public school in America to Boston’s oldest church building to sites linked to America's fight for independence from Britain – Boston is, in effect, one fantastic outdoor history museum.
Boston is surrounded by the Greater Boston region and is contiguously bordered by the cities and towns of Winthrop, Revere, Chelsea, Everett, Somerville, Cambridge, Watertown, Newton, Brookline, Needham, Dedham, Canton, Milton, and Quincy. The Charles River separates Boston from Watertown and the majority of Cambridge, and the mass of Boston from its own Charlestown neighborhood. To the east lie Boston Harbor and the Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area (which includes part of the city's territory, specifically Calf Island, Gallops Island, Great Brewster Island, Green Island, Little Brewster Island, Little Calf Island, Long Island, Lovells Island, Middle Brewster Island, Nixes Mate, Outer Brewster Island, Rainsford Island, Shag Rocks, Spectacle Island, The Graves, and Thompson Island). The Neponset River forms the boundary between Boston's southern neighborhoods and the city of Quincy and the town of Milton. The Mystic River separates Charlestown from Chelsea and Everett, and Chelsea Creek and Boston Harbor separate East Boston from Boston proper.

A time capsule buried in 1795 by Paul Revere and Samuel Adams was unearthed at the Massachusetts Statehouse in Boston. It is possibly the oldest such U.S. artifact ever uncovered.
