In a city that is the home of the nation's top universities, we can start our list in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, AKA MIT, located in Cambridge. this great institute features 168 acres of architectural buildings, statuary and the MIT Museum. One of the highlights of the MIT is the Stata Center, a complex known for its controversial design, built in 2004 and designed by the well-known architect Frank Gehry.
At number 9 we suggest the Massachusetts state house. the 1797 historic landmark is one of the 16 stops of the famous Freedom trail. watch our special video about this trail... The Massachusetts state house is one of the most beautiful buildings in the trail, mainly recognised by it's gilded dome, and red brick facade. and it is located in one of Boston's most beautiful neighbourhoods, Beacon Hill. Guided tours of the historic building are available all year long, for free! As you may imagine, this is not the only landmark from the Freedom trail on our list...
At number 8 we recommend the oldest public park in Boston, the Boston Common. The peaceful park was not so peaceful before the 1817, as it was used for public hangings. located in the heart of the city, this huge park features some of the most popular sights of Boston, and it is also the first station of the freedom Trail. Number 7 is Prudential centre. This commercial complex features many of the most popular shops in the fashion world. One of the exciting attractions is the Prudential Skywalk in the 50th floor of the Prudential Tower, which is one of the tallest skyscrapers of Boston. The “Top of the Hub” restaurant on the last floor is a great place to view the whole city and enjoy a tasty meal.
For those of you who love baseball, number 6 is a historic landmark! Fenway park is home to one of the most popular teams in the history of the US, the Red Sox. “The Green Monster” was opened in 1912, and it went through many changes since then. the park also hosted some of the unforgettable concerts in the US, like the famous Ray Charles appearance in 1973.
At number 5 We are leaving Boston and heading to Concord and Lexington. two towns that played an important role in the history of the revolutionary war, and an extremely popular tourist destination.
At number 4 we are back at UNI. This time we have Harvard. in the middle of this old university you can enjoy the Harvard Yard area, where many historic buildings are, like the oldest academic building in the US, which was built in 1720. this and many other great attractions are located in the 25 acres of grassy area of the uni.
Time to do some shopping. with More than 100 stores are available in our number 3 attraction. Quincy market is packed with upscale restaurants and food stalls and more. Visit the market at the weekend, when many outdoor shows take place. the market is located in Downtown Boston, so watch our video guides on this area and learn about Faneuil Hall building.
At number 2, visit one of the city's most popular squares, Copley square.famous for the most famous churches in the US, the Trinity Church. the church is well-known for its unique Romanesque style, designed by Henry Hobson Richardson. Copley square is also the home to Boston Public Library and to the second tallest skyscraper in Boston, the John Hancock Tower. the combination of new and old buildings in the small square gives it a great atmosphere you will not want to miss!
At number 1 we will take you for a tour on the USS constitution, an invincible warship located in Boston Naval Shipyard. For the first time since Davy Jones died in 2012 of a heart attack, The Monkees original members Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork sing on live TV. I'm A Believer and She Makes Me Laugh was performed on GMA the morning of June 1, 2016.
In 1967, The Monkees sold more records than The Beatles and The Rolling Stones combined. Jimi Hendrix Experience was the opening act on The Monkees sixties national tour.
‘I’m A Believer’ from ‘More of the Monkees’ (1967) is The Monkees biggest and most enduring hit, staying at Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 for seven weeks. The Monkees most identifiable song was written by a young Neil Diamond, but the group made it their own thanks to the dynamic vocals of Mickey Dolenz. As the featured single from the band's second album, 'More Of The Monkees' was one of the biggest selling pop/rock albums of the '60's, sitting atop the Billboard 200 album charts for 18 weeks.
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the launch of The Monkees, Micky Dolenz, Peter Tork and Michael Nesmith released Good Times, the band's first album in 20 years. If I had known I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself, Mickey Dolenz joked.
The Monkees' first studio album in 20 years was released May 27, 2016. Good Times! celebrates the band's 50th anniversary and features new contributions from surviving members Michael Nesmith, Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork. CD also includes tunes written especially for the project by various respected modern-rock artists.
Mike Nesmith said he was pleasantly surprised with Good Times! I thought it came out great, and the songs that people have been writing for it I thought were great, noted Nesmith. It just came together like an ordinary record, but because it was our 50th [anniversary], we knew it was gonna be kind of a touchstone, so everybody had high hopes for it, he continued. And then when it came out like it did, it was like, 'Holy smokes, this actually…sounds good!' And so, we were thrilled.
The album includes tunes written by Weezer's Rivers Cuomo, Oasis' Noel Gallagher, The Jam's Paul Weller, XTC's Andy Partridge and Death Cab for Cutie's Ben Gibbard. Nesmith said he especially liked Gibbard's contribution, Me and Magdelana, as well as a track that Weller and Gallagher co-wrote, Birth of an Accidental Hipster.
On Me and Magdelana, Nesmith trades lead vocals with Dolenz. He said that working with his old band mate on the parts for that song, and other tracks, was one of the things he most enjoyed about making the album. It was very easy 'cause we worked together for so long, he pointed out, adding that having the different writers gave us so many more things to say and so many more opportunities at a good time. Ha! No pun intended.
Good Times! certainly shares many elements with The Monkees' classic 1960s material, including infectious melodies and jangly guitars. Still, Nesmith feels that the new album is more than a trip down memory lane. The thing that I think works so good about the new record is that it really is in the moment, he insisted. It's happening right now. These are real people, right now, singing it in this real time.

Dr. Karen Beluso, Lisa Green & Willem Boning: Designing Steinway Hall
Dr. Karen M. Beluso, a graduate of the Juilliard School, made her Carnegie Hall debut performing Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the New York Youth Symphony. She is Institutional Sales Manager for Steinway & Sons, and performs with violinist Jourdan Urbach.
Lisa Green joined Selldorf Architects as a Partner in 2010. She brings over 25 years of experience in the architecture and museum field to the firm, most recently serving as Assistant Director of the Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, MA.
Willem Boning is an acoustical designer at Arup, one of the world’s most active and influential building design and engineering firms. He works at the intersection of architecture and sound design and develops new tools for acoustical analysis, optimization and reverse-engineering.
Together they speak to the specific design needs of the new Steinway Hall in New York City. Designed by the internationally renowned Selldorf Architects, the new location brings together Steinway's storied heritage with new musical and technological innovations in a contemporary setting. Inside Steinway Hall, guests will find many details that reference the materials, craftsmanship and instruments that the company is lauded for, from end-grain oak flooring that recalls former iterations of Steinway Hall to recital hall seats covered in an Imperial Yellow fabric that is the same color found inside the action of a Steinway & Sons piano. Other features include a custom, bentwood decorative ceiling, and acoustic paneling in the concert hall that evokes the exquisite woods used to make each Steinway.
The School of Visual Arts offers a four-year Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design. The program is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA). After three years of professional experience, BFA graduates from SVAID are qualified to sit for the National Council for Interior Design Qualification exam (NCIDQ).
