Buses in Salt Lake City, Utah 2018
UTA's bus system extends throughout the Wasatch Front from Brigham City in the north to Santaquin in the south and as far west as Grantsville, as well as east to Park City. UTA also operates routes to the ski resorts in Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons, as well as Sundance in Provo Canyon, during the ski season (typically November to April). Approximately 60,000 people ride the bus daily, although ridership has reportedly declined since TRAX (lightrail) was constructed ~Wikipedia

Greyhound bus trip through northern U.S.: (6) Boise, Idaho to Salt Lake City Utah 2010-08-29
About the driver:
This Greyhound driver became lost while trying to retrace his way back to the bus terminal to retrieve his driver log book. At about midnight, the bus got on the local interstate highway leading to the major east-west interstate I-84 south of Boise before he suddenly remembered the location of his log book.
After having announced on the PA that he was taking a five-minute delay to return to the terminal, he took the next exit and then turned west on a suburban artery. He proceeded several miles before turning south (even though the bus had just come from the north). On this artery road he would drive past a sign about two miles south reading City Center Traffic that pointed to the left. After having gone an estimated five miles to the south, he turned left on a main road to head east. The road ended in a dark area, presumably somewhere to the southeast of downtown, where he was forced to turn either left tor right. On turning left and then proceeding north for several miles, the bus entered a quaint night life area (unfit for large vehicles) of the Idaho State University.
Only after this did he ask if any local passenger on board might be able to guide him back downtown. When only silence ensued, he continued driving toward downtown (where tall buildings were visible), where he cruised back and forth to look for a recognizable street. Although it was suggested by several passengers, he adamantly refused to stop to ask for directions, but at all times adhered to this preferred trial-and-error method. In return, passengers were treated to a 30-minute midnight tour of the industrial zone and the Boise State university night-life zone of Boise.
Not the affable man that Greg, the previous driver from Portland to Boise, was to start with, this driver would remain sour for the rest of the way to Salt Lake City, scolding passengers whose feet had blocked the aisle when he went to use the lavatory at a rest stop.
About the video:
The long night-crossing of the wide Idaho desert (not filmed) eventually gives way to dawn over Utah's long north-south valley near Ogden, followed by an early-morning arrival at Salt Lake City's new intermodal terminal.

UTA's bus fares are fixed price, based on the service type. Paper transfers are issued and valid for use on other buses and TRAX. TRAX fares are similarly fixed price, with the option to buy a 2-ride ticket. FrontRunner fares are distance-based.
Numerous fare products are available, including monthly passes purchased at local stores, passes for university students and employer-sponsored passes. A variety of discounts and discount passes are available for eligible riders.
On January 1, 2009, UTA launched an Automated Fare Collection System to collect fares with contactless smart cards. [6] [7] [8] As the first full AFC System in the USA to accept contactless bank cards (ExpressPay, Zip from Discover, PayPass and PayWave), the UTA system, implemented in conjunction with Vix Technology, received the 2009 Innovation Award from the American Public Transportation Association [9] and the 2009 Sesames Transportation Award. [10]
The Utah Transit Authority traces its roots to 1953 when several bus companies united to form the organization. Ironically, among the constitutive companies of UTA was National City Lines, which bought out and decommissioned the trolleys from the Utah Light and Traction Company in the 1940s. The Traction company operated electric trolleys in Salt Lake City neighborhoods like the Avenues.
Bus service in the 1950s became unpopular with low gas prices and subsidized construction of highways like Interstate 15. By 1960 bus ridership was only about one third the level of war-time Salt Lake, and the average age of riders was 14.
In 1969, the Utah State Legislature passed the Utah Public Transit District Act, which allows individual communities to address transportation needs by forming local transit districts.
UTA was founded in March 1970 when the cities of Sandy, Salt Lake and Murray voted to form a transit district. Today, UTA's service area is over 1,400 square miles (3,600 km2) and covers six counties: Box Elder, Davis, Salt Lake, Tooele, Utah and Weber.
UTA strove to streamline the bus system and only in the 1970s connected the east and west sides of the Salt Lake Valley. In 1976 UTA began offering ski service to Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons. Today, UTA offers ski service buses to the Alta, Snowbird, Brighton, and Solitude ski resorts.
In March 2007, UTA began holding open houses to receive community input on a plan to completely overhaul the bus system in Salt Lake County. The final redesign plan was approved on May 23, 2007, and was implemented on August 26. The plan has received widespread praise, as well as widespread criticism.[1][dead link]

The Last of Us Remastered PS4 Playthrough Part 29 Salt Lake City - Spring - Bus Depot
The Last of Us Remastered is the remastered version of the PlayStation 3's The Last of Us. It will have all the same aspects of the PlayStation 3's The Last of Us with a 1080p resolution, higher resolution character models, improved shadows and lighting, upgraded textures, 60 frames per second and even more improvements.
STORY:
The Last of Us takes place in the year 2033, twenty years after a fungal-based, brain-altering pandemic has spread and infected nearly 60% of the world's population (possibly even more). Since the outbreak, the world has gone into a state of panic and frenzy as officials try to fix and keep the situation under control. When the World Health Organization's attempts to procure a vaccine fail, the United States government does away with the bureaucrats in power and the establishment of the American government. The country is turned into a police state under the control of homeland security and the military, and cities across the nation are placed under martial law one by one. Survivors of the pandemic are assigned to designated quarantine zones that are supposed to separate them from the infected and keep them safe.
Sometime within the twenty years leading up to the main events of the game, an anti-government militia group calling themselves the Fireflies is established, and their main goal is to find and produce a vaccine for the Cordyceps Brain Infection, while staging attacks on quarantine zones as an act of defiance, as they view the military as tyrants.

Total Public Surveillance in Suburban USA - Sandy, UT in suburban Salt Lake City
In a clear example of the out of control National Security state, Sandy, Utah (suburb of SLC) received another federal grant to install a $400,000 surveillance camera system-- very important to surveill the skate park, where a teen was caught drinking beer. Are you kidding me!?
You take away their anonymity and their ability to do something without being watched, said citizen volunteer Bill Dunlap.
Our basic goal is to make the public a safer place, said Andy Schreyer, sales manager for Firetide, Inc. (THE MANUFACTURER)
Yes, and next, since sometimes husbands and wives fight, cameras or microphones will be in your homes, so police can be alerted if you are yelling at your spouse. Or perhaps you are neglecting you kids, so CPS will just install this little device in your house. Sandy is 93% white, with a medium family income of $70k. Should Homeland Security really be spending taxpayer money on spying on citizens. If the police or some businesses want surveillance in some areas, PAY FOR IT YOUR DAMN SELF!

Commuter Train in Salt Lake City, Utah 2018
The entire length of FrontRunner corridor (including the southern extension) has been approved as a Quiet Zone by the Federal Railroad Administration. Typically, federal railroad safety regulations require that all train operators sound their horns for 15 to 20 seconds as they approach any road crossing.[37] Essentially a Quiet Zone designation eliminates this requirement. However, for obvious safety reasons, they are not prohibited from sounding their horn, if appropriate. The Quiet Zone applies to all trains (including freight trains) within the same corridor. Each city along the route had to individually apply for the designation, but UTA provided substantial assistance with the process. Several safety upgrades must be in place at all public crossings in order to receive Quiet Zone approval. In addition to the normal automatic warning bells and lights, required upgrades include crossing guards, signs warning that trains do not blare horns in the area, and raised medians (which prevent cars from driving around lowered gates). There are also additional safety features for pedestrians. Prior to the southern extension, FrontRunner had the longest Quiet Zone in the nation—the southern extension doubled the length of the previous Quiet Zone. ~Wikipedia

Greyhound bus trip through northern U.S.: (7) Salt Lake City to Wasatch Range 2010-08-29
On a clear summer day, a Greyhound bus leaving Salt Lake City heads into a canyon in the Wasatch Range as it climbs along Interstate 80, east toward the plateau state of Wyoming.
The rather irritable driver from Boise to Salt Lake City who considers himself a never-lost driver ends up getting lost while looking for the road back to the Greyhound terminal to pick up his forgotten log book is now history; he has been replaced by a compassionate bilingual driver with the stature of Vincente Fox who takes the pain to deliver crucial information in Spanish as well to Spanish-speaking-only passengers.

Greyhound bus trip through northern U.S.: (8) Wasatch Range Utah to Rawlins, Wyoming 2010-08-29
On a clear summer day, a Greyhound headed east from Salt Lake City continues its climb along Interstate 80 through the canyon in the Wasatch Range before finally reaching the plateau to enter Wyoming for its stops, as announced by the driver @ 9:12, at Evanston (elevation 6700 ft / 2000 m: as suggested by the stiff plateau-country breeze blowing on the dog walkers @ 9:40).
After this brief pause, the bus continues for an hour and half east to the next major town on Interstate 80, Rock Springs (@ 11:10), where a 30-minute meal break is had at the Golden Arch.
The meal break over and the trip east through noticeably drier and less rugged terrain than the Wasatch canyon having resumed (@ 11:55), one passenger underscores the my-way-or-the-highway approach to customer service delegated by Greyhound to its drivers.
Just before reaching the town of Rawlins near the continental divide, mositure and instability in the air brings on a few cold sprinkles (@ 13:05 to 14:50).
2011 Shriners Ride for Kids, Salt Lake City Utah.
Alex and Melissa go to the 2011 Shriners hospital Ride for Kids. Hosted by Wrights Morotcycle parts in Salt Lake City.
The Shrine's charitable arm is the Shriners Hospitals for Children, a network of twenty-two hospitals in the United States, Mexico and Canada. It was originally formed to treat young victims of polio, but as that disease was controlled, they broadened their scope. They now deal with orthopedic care, burn treatment, cleft lip and palate care and spinal cord injury rehabilitation. All treatment offered at Shriner's Hospitals for Children is offered without any financial obligation to patients and their families, and there is no requirement for religion, race, or relationship to a Shriner. Patients must be under the age of eighteen and treatable.[8]
In 2008, Shriners Hospitals had a total budget of $826 million and in 2007 they approved 39,454 new patient applications, attended to the needs of 125,125 patients.
