Milano da scoprire, Parco Marinai d'Italia e Palazzina Liberty
Settantaduemila metri quadrati , anticamente occupati da un fortilizio austriaco (sino alla cacciata nel 1848 durante le Cinque Giornate), quindi ospitarono, dal 1911, il Verziere (mercato ortofrutticolo) sfrattato dalle zone più centrali della città (si trovava nell'attuale largo Augusto). Nel 1967 vi fu inaugurato il Monumento al Marinaio d'Italia, opera di Francesco Somaini, quindi completato con un parco ricco di specie arboree. Per sei anni presso la Palazzina Liberty (1974-1980) vi fu la sede del Collettivo Teatrale La Comune di Dario Fo e Franca Rame. La Palazzina, ai tempi del Verziere, era la sede del bar-ristoro. Attualmente dopo i restauri è sede di una scuola musicale e di varie attività culturali. Da ricordare anche il monumento alle Vittime del Lavoro e quello ai Donatori di Sngue. Il Parco, nel 1987, venne intitolato al dottor Vittorio Formentano fondatore dell' A.V.I.S..

The construction of canals in Milan dates back to medieval times and has been done for thousand of years! After long wars against the Empire in the twelfth century, the city finally managed to become a Free Community: it then decided to connect the ditch that ran around the city's walls with the waterway network that had been organized for irrigation by the religious congregations of the Cistercians and the Humiliated. This solution ensured a better inflow and outflow of water. The route of the Naviglio Grande between Milan and Abbiategrasso dates back to this period.
During the Visconti dynasty, further impetus was given to the system of canals, especially with regard to the transport of goods and materials.
When work began on the construction of the Cathedral in Milan, a rather large problem was created in bringing an enormous amount of material into the city. Starting from the delta of the Toce River at the mouth of the Val d'Ossola in Lake Maggiore, barges loaded with marble blocks came up to the Ticino River dock. But there was a hitch: there was a difference in height of a meter and a half between the canal and the inner circle of water, so the barges were forced to stop there. To solve the problem, the first pound lock was built in Europe in the first half of the 1400s, called the Conca di Viarenna, which is still visible a short distance from the dock. From that moment on, the barges could overcome the difference in height and easily bring the marble up to the pond behind the Verziere, a few dozen meters from the Cathedral's construction site.

Una piccola perla nel cuore di Milano, che non tutti conoscono. Ossario visitabile fino alle 18, gratuito. Merita una vista!

Una chiesa che vale la pena di visitare, c'è una cripta piena di osse, tutte sistemate nelle teche, un impatto un po forte, ma è stato un modo per recuperare l'ossario. C'è di fianco la chiesa di S. Stefano, dietro un bel giardino e la piazza è bella.

Dentro il santuario si trova un ossario, una piccola stanza ricoperta di ossa e teschi, è assolutamente da vedere, molto suggestivo! In pochi lo conoscono a Milano!

Prezioso quotidiano raccoglie le opere di tre affermati artisti italiani (Mariano Moroni, Ermenegildo Pannocchia e Caterina Tosoni), di un giovane diplomato dell'Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera (Antonio Gramegna) e di un esperto di comunicazione (Marco Pareschi), che sono stati chiamati ad interpretare l'arte dal quotidiano partendo dalla nuova collezione per la tavola Venice di Guzzini.
Chiesa di San Bernardino alle monache Milano
La chiesa di San Bernardino alle Monache è un edificio religioso cattolico sito in via Lanzone, nel centro storico di Milano; eretta circa nel 1450 in mattoni rossi, è quanto resta dell'ampio monastero trecentesco di Santa Maria di Cantalupo soppresso nel 1798 dalle leggi napoleoniche.In questo luogo esisteva già una chiesa precedente, del 1288. Dopo la morte del grande predicatore senese San Bernardino (1444), che era stato più volte a Milano, si decise di costruire questa nuova chiesa a lui dedicata. Il titolo Alle Monache fu aggiunto perché la chiesa fu edificata per il grande monastero e per distinguerla da San Bernardino alle Ossa, al Verziere.
Si ritiene che la chiesa sia della seconda metà del XV secolo e che l'autore del progetto sia stato Pietro Antonio Solari. Nel 1645 la superiora Suor Maria Antonia Galimberti fece aggiungere alla chiesa un'ala con facciata barocca. Nel 1727 furono modificate le finestre ed il portale.
Circa cinquant'anni dopo il convento venne soppresso (1798) e gli edifici che lo componevano furono man mano demoliti. Quando fu costruita l'attuale sede del liceo Manzoni nel 1913 fu distrutta anche l'ala secentesca della chiesa. Dopo restauri del 1922 e del 1984 la chiesa è di nuovo aperta al culto.
