Travel from Erstfeld to Altdorf in Canton Uri, Switzerland
Come on a journey from Erstfeld to Altdorf, Switzerland. This video was filmed on 31 March 2019, while traveling through Canton Uri. You will see the River Reuss throughout the video as well as beautiful views of the Swiss Alps. Passing through these towns is a famous Highway (Autobahn) from Lucerne to Lugano built in 1980. Besides car travel, there are also plenty of options for hiking and biking trails. This area is especially beautiful because of the old farms that dot the landscape. Their architecture is especially interesting, as it reflects the history and culture of Switzerland. A small cable car (Luftseilbahn), will transport small groups of tourists up to even better views of the alps. Another notable feature of this area is Rega, the Swiss air ambulance, which is located in the northern part of Erstfeld. While this journey is not filled with tourists it is still an attractive place for tourists to visit. Along the journey you will see truck stop Gotthard, part of a trail in the tunnel. This tour ends in Railway Station Altdorf. The center of Altdorf is only about 1 km from the railway station, but after a long day of touring, taking the train makes sense for many ambitious visitors.

Der Urnersee ist der südlichste und romantischste Teil des Vierwaldstättersees.
In dieser Gegend wurde 1291 die Schweiz gegründet.
In der Tellskapelle (bei der Tellsplatte) wird auf 4 grossen Wandgemälden die Tells-Geschichte gezeigt. Szenen: Apfelschuss, Sprung aus dem Boot, Gesslers Ermordung, Rütli-Schwur.
Etwas höher gelegen befindet sich ein Glockenturm (in Betrieb täglich ab 9 Uhr, zu jeder vollen Stunde je 10 Minuten lang; kann von den Besuchern bedient werden), dessen Glockenspiel die Begleitmusik dieses Videos bildet.
Hoch über der Tellsplatte befindet sich die alte Axenstrasse, nur für Wanderer und auch die neue Axenstrasse, die heute von Autos befahren werden kann.
Auch die Gotthard-Bahn fährt auf dieser Seite.
Am gegenüberliegenden Ufer liegt das Rütli, und dahinter in einem Tunnel die Autobahn Deutschland - Italien.
Rund um den Urnersee verläuft der Weg der Schweiz, ein empfehlenswerter Wanderweg, der stückweise von allen Kantonen gebaut wurde und auch gewartet wird.
