Lodsworth is a small village and civil parish in the Chichester district of West Sussex, England. It is situated between Midhurst and Petworth, half a mile north of the A272 road. It lies within the South Downs National Park, just to the north of the valley of the River Rother and a tributary stream the River Lod runs close to the east end of the village.

1. Hawk Conservancy Trust Weyhill
The Hawk Conservancy Trust is a bird park and conservation charity that cares for and displays birds of prey. It is located in Weyhill, Hampshire, England, near to the A303 road and the town of Andover. Founded as a zoo by local farmer Reg Smith and his wife Hilary, the park was incorporated as the Hawk Conservancy Trust in 2002. It is also the site of the National Bird of Prey Hospital, a veterinary hospital that takes in injured birds of prey.

2. Woburn Safari Park Woburn
Woburn Safari Park is a safari park located in Woburn, Bedfordshire, England. Visitors to the park can drive through exhibits, which contain species such as southern white rhino, elephants, tigers and black bears. It is part of the estates of the Duke of Bedford that also includes Woburn Abbey and its 3,000-acre deer park. The Safari Park itself covers 360 acres .Woburn Safari Park is a member of the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria .

SWC Free Walk 48, Haslemere to Midhurst. 13/5/13.

Having been deprived of bluebell sightings last week in Hertfordshire, it was time to return to trusty Surrey and West Sussex, where they were out in abundance!
Like last week's walk, this wonderful 13 miler was well wooded, but wilder and with a lot more variety in the flora and fauna.
It also provided the walker with his first cuckoo song in two years, a sad reflection of the bird's decline. There are some great views from Black Down, where the bird was heard.
Lunch is had in the pretty village of Lurgashall, where the local hostelry overlooks the village green.
Thereafter, it's on along a less wooded section; past a small lake; on through more woods and then into Cowdray Park, with its polo fields and Tudor ruins. Unusually, there's a bus ride finale for the return to Haslemere.
Another corker of a walk in an area (South Downs National Park) that is rapidly becoming a favourite with this walker.
