Albourne is a village and civil parish in the Mid Sussex district of West Sussex, England. It lies just off the A23 road three miles east of Henfield. The parish has a land area of 772.9 hectares . In the 2001 census 600 people lived in 234 households, of whom 321 were economically active. The population at the 2011 Census was 644.The village is home to a number of old and historic buildings, such as Gallops , and The Pound now owned by Brighton & Hove Albion footballer Gareth Nelson, which was used to impound straying animals. The Hawk Conservancy Trust is a bird park and conservation charity that cares for and displays birds of prey. It is located in Weyhill, Hampshire, England, near to the A303 road and the town of Andover. Founded as a zoo by local farmer Reg Smith and his wife Hilary, the park was incorporated as the Hawk Conservancy Trust in 2002. It is also the site of the National Bird of Prey Hospital, a veterinary hospital that takes in injured birds of prey.

Chatham Dockyard was a Royal Navy Dockyard located on the River Medway in Kent. Established in Chatham in the mid-16th century, the dockyard subsequently expanded into neighbouring Gillingham . It came into existence at the time when, following the Reformation, relations with the Catholic countries of Europe had worsened, leading to a requirement for additional defences. For 414 years Chatham Royal Dockyard provided over 500 ships for the Royal Navy, and was at the forefront of shipbuilding, industrial and architectural technology. At its height, it employed over 10,000 skilled artisans and covered 400 acres . Chatham dockyard closed in 1984, and 84 acres of the Georgian dockyard is now managed as a visitor attraction by the Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust.

24 Hours In Brighton, England

Explore colourful Brighton as I check out the buzzing food scene, shop on The Lanes, view the city from above on the i360, take a trip along Brighton Pier, track down the candy coloured beach huts and even stumble upon a beautiful vineyard!

With its fiercely independent spirit, top restaurants and cafes, and an old-time English seaside charm, it’s easy to see why Brighton is one of the most popular day trips from London.

I spent a busy 24 hours in Brighton exploring all it had to offer. I went on a Brighton Food Tour, which introduced me to some of Brighton’s hidden gems and the best independent eateries. I took to the skies in the city’s newest attraction - the British Airways i360, and enjoyed some awesome views of the city.

The Lanes is still as independent and unique as I remember it being. From a vegan perfume store and independent butcher with award-winning sausage rolls to vintage clothes shops to a tea mixologist, it’s a fun place to spend an afternoon. There’s also plenty of street art to check out in the area too.

One of the highlights was my trip out of Brighton to the Albourne Estate, a vineyard around 25 minutes from Brighton, with views of the beautiful South Downs. I took a tour of the winery and tasted some top English wines.

I also dined at Food For Friends, one of Brighton’s top vegetarian restaurants. It’s the kind of place where you’ll be wowed by the chef’s creativity… and fellow carnivores; I promise you won’t miss meat!

Band of Brothers: Visit to Aldbourne, where Easy Co of the 506th PIR, 101st Airborne Division were based during World War Two.

First half of the video shows a bit of the village before moving on to the more interesting locations relevant to Dick Winters and Band of Brothers fans (partly because I didn't research Aldbourne before I got there and only got some good BoB info from a Stephen Ambrose Historical Tours tour guide who happened to be there when I arrived.
