This video is a short introduction to the Siracourt V1 storage facility in Northern France.
It starts with a look at photographs, drawings & models on display at the La Coupole Bunker Museum near Saint-Omer before moving to the site itself at Siracourt.
Unfortunately, I made several errors in the commentary (made during the visit to the site which was completed before the visit to the museum) not least in thinking it was a V2 plant and not a V1 storage facility. Where I have made a verbal error I have added a correction note.
Please take a look at Video History Today , the first web site to offer unique collections of re-usable original video clips designed for teachers and students.
The idea behind Video History Today is to give schools the raw material to make mini-documentaries and video essays on historical subjects.
Initial packages focus on World War I (Somme and Ieper areas), The Holocaust, the American Civil War and D-Day & Normandy 1944.
