Åseral is a municipality in Vest-Agder county, Norway. It is in the traditional district of Sørlandet. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Kyrkjebygda. Other villages in Åseral include Eikerapen, Kylland, Ljosland, and Åknes. Åseral is an inland municipality, bordering the county of Aust-Agder to the east and north. In the south, it borders the municipality of Audnedal, in the southeast with Hægebostad, and in the west with Kvinesdal. Åseral is the headwaters of the river Mandalselva and the Mandalen valley. 1. Bortelid Skisenter Aseral Municipality
Bortelid is a village in Åseral municipality in Vest-Agder county, Norway. The village is located on the west side of the lake Juvatn in the northeastern part of the municipality. The mountainous areas of Bortelid is part of Setesdalsheiene mountains, and it contains one of the southernmost ski resorts in Norway . The area is also full of holiday cottages—over 1000 cottages and apartments. Historically, Bortelid was a remote valley that was used for some small dairy farming operations, but today the economy centres around tourism and the outdoor recreation at the ski centre.There is also a biathlon arena and cross country skiing trails. Eikerapen or Eikjerapen is a village in Åseral municipality in Vest-Agder county, Norway. The village is located on the southwestern shore of the lake Øre , about 10 kilometres south of the municipal centre of Kyrkjebygda. Eikerapen has a popular ski resort that is open in the winter time, with ski lifts and many ski slopes. There are many holiday cottages in the village near the ski centre. Eikerapen Roots Festival is an annual international roots music festival, held at Eikerapen in August each year.

Ljosland is a village in Åseral municipality in Vest-Agder county, Norway. The village is located at the northern end of the Monn river valley, about 20 kilometres north of the municipal centre of Kyrkjebygda. The lake Ljoslandsvatnet lies just south of the village. Ljosland has a ski resort that is popular in the winter time, with ski lifts and many ski slopes. There are many holiday cottages located in the village. The Ljosland Fjellstove hotel was built here in 1937 and has served tourists since then. Ljosland Chapel was built in the village in 1959 to serve the residents of northwestern Åseral.

Baby girl born with a trunk worship as Lord Ganesha

A baby girl born with a 'trunk' has become the center of attraction in a village in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. The family gave her name Laxmi. People are flocking to see her believing that she is an incarnation of Lord Ganesha. Devotees spoon fed her to get the blessings from her.

Ganesha is always portrayed with an elephant’s head, he is the personification of all intellectual activities, his large head and tummy symbolize his ability to store a large amount of knowledge (hence the proverbial “memory of an elephant”), his large ears gather information, and his long trunk can seek out knowledge even in the most inaccessible places.

The child has a protuberance between her two eyes which people believe resembles the trunk of Lord Ganesha.

The people from far places have swarmed the modest house of a family of labourers to get a glimpse of the 'divine' baby.
This girl is the fourth child in the family and perfectly healthy.

Some people believe this baby is an incarnation of Lord Ganesha.

People haven't stopped coming in since the news of the birth of the 'divine' baby spread.

According to doctors this protrusion is a result of gene mutation which can be caused by malnutrition and increased pollution levels.

If the family chooses, they can go for a corrective surgery for the child at a later stage in life.
