Azheekal Beach is one of the most unknown and untouched beaches on the coast of Arabian Sea. It is in Karunagappally Taluk of Kollam Metropolitan Area, Kerala. The beach got this name from the Malayalam word Aazhee, which means confluence of backWaters and the Sea. Azheekal beach is located at the northern end of the land mass of Alappad peninsula in the district of Kollam, Kerala.

  • 1. Parumala Church Thiruvalla
    Saint Geevargese Mar Gregorios, popularly known as Parumala Thirumeni and also known as Chathuruthy Kochu Thirumeni, was a bishop of the Malankara Syrian Church. He became a deacon at the age of 10, a priest at the age of 18, and a bishop when aged 28. He died at the age of 54 and was buried at St. Peter and St. Paul's Church, Parumala, in Kerala, India. In 1947, he was declared a saint by the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, making him the first canonised Christian saint from India. In 1987, the Syriac Orthodox Church also recognised him as a saint.
