The district is named after the town of Bhadrak, which is the district headquarters and, according to legend, derives its name from the Goddess Bhadrakali, whose temple is on the banks of the Salandi River.

    Simlipal National Park is a national park and a tiger reserve in the Mayurbhanj district in the Indian state of Odisha. It is part of the Similipal-Kuldiha-Hadgarh Elephant Reserve popularly known as Mayurbhanj Elephant Reserve, which includes three protected areas — Similipal Tiger Reserve , Hadgarh Wildlife Sanctuary and Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary ). Simlipal National Park derives its name from the abundance of semul that bloom here. It is the second largest national park in India The park has a protected area of 845.70 square kilometres and has some beautiful waterfalls like Joranda and Barehipani.   • 2. Chandipur Beach Balasore
    Chandipur, also known as Chandipur-on-sea, is a small sea resort in Baleswar District, Odisha, India. The resort is on the Bay of Bengal and is approximately 16 kilometers from the Baleswar Railway Station. The beach is unique in that the water recedes up to 5 kilometers during the ebb tide. Due to its unique circumstances, the beach supports bio-diversity. Horseshoe crab is also found here on the beach towards Mirzapur, the nearby fishing market and community at the confluence of the Budhabalanga River. It is a suitable picnic spot. One of Odisha Tourism's Panthanivas is situated here.

    Bhitarkanika National Park is the core area of Bhitarkanika Wildlife Sanctuary located in the north-east region of Kendrapara district in the state of Odisha in eastern India. It spreads over 145 km2 and is surrounded by the Bhitarkanika Wildlife Sanctuary spread over 672 km2 . It was designated as national park on 16 September 1998 and as a Ramsar site by UNESCO on 19 August 2002. Gahirmatha Beach and Marine Sanctuary lies to the east, and separates swamp region cover with canopy of mangroves from the Bay of Bengal. The national park is home to Saltwater crocodile , Indian python, King cobra, black ibis, darters and many other species of flora and fauna. Bhitarkanika - The Amazon of India

Bhitarkanika National Park is a national park located in the Kendrapara District Odisha in eastern India. Core area of 145 square kilometre of the Bhitarkanika Wild Sanctuary, spread over 672sqkm, has been designated as a National Park since 1998.
The land of lush green mangroves, migrating birds and turtles, the menacing estuarine crocodiles, meandering water courses, tranquil surrounding intercepted by the chirping of birds and the ever embracing nature, entrails visitors from near and far off places to flock these unique places of tourist importance. Scientists, Scholars, Nature Lovers and Tourists have abundant food for thought and exploration. Bhitarkanika represents one of the finest creations ever. The wetland is represented by as many as 3 protected Areas, namely “The Bhitarkanika National Park”, “The Bhitarkanika Wildlife Sanctuary” and “The Gahirmatha Marine Sanctuary”. Bhitarkanika is a unique habitat of Mangrove Forests criss-crossed with numerous creeks and mud flats located in Kendrapara district of Orissa. One of the largest Mangrove Eco systems in India, Bhitarkanika is home to diverse flora and fauna. This film was created by Goutam Bose (Mobile:08981871893).
