Harz not the yellow brick road

On the way to the Harz-area we encountered this piece of road. The L942 runs through what used to be a military practice area, but now it's part of a nature conservation project (german: Naturschutzgroßprojekt). The area is known as Senne and is connected on the northeastside to the East-Teutoburger-forrest (Östlicher Teutoburger Wald). On the south it reaches Paderborn
The surroundings are a bit eerie, with warningsigns alternating on the left- & righthandside of the road every few hundred meters. It warns to stay on the road due to explosiondanger.
The small cobbles were a real treat (NOT) after a fair amount of mileage already covered that day. However, this road was a piece of cake (allthough a bit long) compared to some other pieces of road during the following days.
NOTE: Be aware that the road is not always open, times are unknown to me.
Eat Concrete - Belgian Championship Downhill Skateboarding (Official Aftermovie)
After 7 months of preparations, the 5 members of Eat Concrete were ready to open the first Belgian Championship downhill skateboarding ever. On the 4th and 5th May the place to be is Gros-Fays in Namur, Belgium. On Friday everybody was welcome to chill at the camping for a little concert by the fire, drink some beers and prepare for the 2 days of competition.
84 people registered for the first Belgian Championship. Men and women from Sweden, Czech Republic, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgian Riders all together. On the first day we started with a freeride with the all the competitors to train on the track. The contestants drove down with 4 persons at once at a maximum speed of 80km/h. In the afternoon we started with selections which contained 7 rounds. 4 rounds on Saturday afternoon and 3 on Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon the best of 16 fight for the Eat Concrete and Belgian Championship title.
Our first Downhill contest was a blast! Perfect weather, lovely people, lots of spectators and a lot of Belgium beer.
There was a positive vibe under the competitors and everyone displayed a high level of skills. We got lots of positive reactions also of the Community of Bièvre. Especially the major was very excited about the event. So we'll hopefully see you all back next year for the second edition of Eat Concrete!
