The area was settled after Spanish explorer Alonso Alvarez de Pineda arrived in 1519, the man responsible for giving the pretty tropical bay its Latin name of Corpus Christi (translated literally as the Body of Christ). These days, this attractive city is as likely to be called the Texas Riviera, and for good reason: numerous fine hotels and resorts, along with many exciting attractions and events have helped cement Corpus Christi's reputation as a must-visit destination.

Welcome to the beautiful South Padre Island, TX beach resort, one of the two (the other is Panama City Beach, FL) spring break capitals of North America.
This is the only way you can get on the island, thru Port Isabel and then Queen Isabella Memorial Bridge.
At the end of the video, South Padre Island Visitor Center, free parking at the front and at the back, lots of free maps and brochures also somebody who will answer all your questions you might have.
You might get there by boat as well, but that's a different story for another day.

Lots of gas stations on the island and in Port Isabel, for cheap gas I recommend Walmart's Murphy USA or HEB's own gas station.

- politely and respectfully answer any of the Qs an agent might ask you,
- do not be belligerent and confrontational with BP agents, they are out there just to do their job and that's to protect American ppl from any transportation of illegal drugs/guns/migrants coming from south of the border,
- always show them RESPECT, they all deserve our entire gratitude for putting their lives on the line to protect the country from transportation of illegal products or migrants.
