De petites haltes routières ont été érigées le long de l'autoroute Kootenay et offrent de superbes vues panoramiques de la vallée.
Une de ces haltes routières est en bordure du Lac Columbia. Comme la fumée était toujours présente, la vue n'était vraiment pas à son meilleur.
C'est pour cette raison que je n'ai inséré aucune photo de cet endroit.
Cependant, en temps normal, le panorama y est vraiment époustouflant.
Nous avons fait un arrêt à l'épicerie du village de Canal Flats (coordonnées GPS 50°09'24.6N 115°48'32.6W) pour nous procurer quelque chose à manger pour notre repas du midi.
Plusieurs options s'offraient à nous puisqu'ils ont même des repas chauds.
Nous nous sommes dirigés ensuite vers Tilley Memorial Park situé en bordure du lac Columbia.
C'est un magnifique endroit pour faire un pique-nique. Dans cet écrin de verdure, on y retrouve plusieurs tables de pique-nique ainsi que des toilettes.
Nous nous y sommes rendus pour y admirer la superbe vue panoramique que nous pouvons avoir du lac Columbia ainsi que de la chaîne de montagnes.
Cependant, nous n'avons pas eu la possibilité de profiter pleinement du panorama, étant donné que le ciel était chargé d'une épaisse fumée dans ce secteur.
Si je n'avais pas su qu'il y avait des montagnes derrière le lac Columbia, j'aurais pensé que ce dernier s'étendait plutôt à l'infini.
