Artist June Carey in Tuscany. It was 2006 when I first claimed this area as my home. But this is the first time I have made it a point to wander the amazing little streets and tiny corso of the historical center of this unspoiled, anicent Etruscan village. I walked carrying my Gopro video camera , free-hand, and since I can't see what it sees, or how level it is, the video is more like the viewer is being carried by me as I walk. I have yet to see any videos on the internet that show the hidden, romantic places one sees only if they explore the side streets on foot, here, and on a Sunday at 1 pm, when the streets are mostlyy empty, when the entire province is eating Sunday dinner . You can't drive through and see this, you have to walk to see it like this.This is not Disney Land; This is the real thing, where people live here, now,,just like they have for hundreds of years.

© CLAUDIO MORTINI™◊ Situato sulla sommità di un colle, Castiglion Fiorentino consente l'affaccio su panorami splendidi sia verso la Val di Chio sia verso il Preappennino, argentato, fino a certe quote, da bellissimi oliveti.
La sua collocazione strategica in prossimità del percorso Arezzo-Chiusi e del collegamento tra la Val di Chiana e la Valtiberina ha fatto sì che il nucleo abitato si sviluppasse in epoca etrusca (VI-V sec. a.C.) e che avesse quindi una continuità di vita fino a diventare importante castrum nel periodo medievale.
Il centro storico, dominato dalla torre del Cassero e circondato dalle mura, conserva infatti l'impianto medievale e preziose testimonianze storico artistiche a partire dall'epoca etrusca. La sua posizione di terra di confine tra la Toscana e l'Umbria lo colloca in una posizione ideale da cui raggiungere le principali città del centro Italia.
Il turista può trovare inoltre una cucina tipica genuina e produzioni biologiche locali, oltre alla produzione di artigianato artistico.

Arezzo (Arretium in latino, Aritim in etrusco) è un comune italiano di 99 587 abitanti, capoluogo dell'omonima provincia in Toscana. Conosciuta nel mondo come Città dell'oro e della Giostra del Saracino.La città di Arezzo è situata alla confluenza di tre delle quattro vallate che compongono la sua provincia. Direttamente a Nord della città ha inizio il Casentino, che è la valle percorsa dal primo tratto dell'Arno; a Nord-Ovest si trova il Valdarno Superiore, sempre percorso dall'Arno nel tratto che scorre fra Arezzo e Firenze; a Sud si trova la Val di Chiana, una pianura ricavata dalla bonifica di preesistenti paludi, il cui più importante corso d'acqua è il Canale Maestro della Chiana. Tramite l'agevole valico del Torrino e la valle del Cerfone, si ha accesso a Nord-Est alla quarta vallata, la Valtiberina, percorsa dal primo tratto del Tevere.Il territorio del comune è molto ampio e vario: si passa dalla pianura che si apre sulla Val di Chiana e sull'Arno, alle colline, a Sud della città, a zone montuose, soprattutto ad Est. Arezzo liegt nordöstlich von Siena in der Toskana. Durch das Kunsthandwerk wurde der Ort einst wohlhabend. Bis heute ist der mittelalterliche Stadtkern gut erhalten. Arezzo ist berühmt für seine Schmuckherstellung und den Antiquitätenhandel. Der große Antiquitätenmarkt am jeweils ersten Sonntag des Monats auf dem Piazza Grande wird Sie begeistern.
Unter den vielen schönen Kirchen fällt die Kathedrale mit ihren Kunstschätzen aus der Gotik und Renaissance besonders auf. Dort können Sie wunderschöne Glasmalereien von Guillaume de Marcillat und das Fresko der Maddalena von Piero della Francesca bewundern. Beeindruckend ist auch der prunkvolle Marmor-Hauptaltar mit dem Sarkophag des Heiligen Donatus, einst Stadtpatron von Arezzo.
Die berühmtesten Söhne der Stadt sind Francesco Petrarca und Giorgio Vasari. Letzterer wurde als Baumeister der Uffizien in Florenz bekannt. Im Park wurde Francesco Petrarca zu Ehren ein Monument errichtet. Der Dichter und Historiker gehörte neben Dante Alighieri und Boccaccio zu den wichtigsten Vertretern der frühen italienischen Literatur.
Erholen Sie sich in der reizvollen Landschaft rund um Arezzo inmitten der Täler des Val di Chiana, Casentino und Valdarno.
