They used to call her the ‘Sleeping Beauty’, but – though she’s hit the snooze button a few times – Bordeaux is now wide awake and ready for action. The new LGV Sud-Ouest line, due for completion in mid- 2017, connects the city with Europe’s high- speed train network and cuts travel time from Paris to just two hours. Its timing is perfect. Here, Lonely Planet author, Jean-Bernard Carillet, tells us more.

Le concepteur-designer des attractions LAMBERT DU DÉCOR vous répond, les yeux dans les yeux. Après 3 éditions, à Mirecourt, à Charmes et à Puzieux, qui ont mobilisé les foules énorme, la MAISON DU TOURMENT revient à en 2019, avec de nouvelles attractions entièrement inédites et plus horrifiques les unes que les autres. Vous n'avez pas trop d'une année pour vous préparer à cet événement !
La MAISON DU TOURMENT regroupera plusieurs attractions de type maison hantée interactive que vous allez devoir parcourir à pied dans des décors digne du cinéma d'horreur. Âmes sensibles, s'abstenir !!!

Europe Trip - Paris - 1/3
In May of 2009 my family, my friend Chris, and myself set out on an amazing and unforgettable 2 week trip through Europe. Starting in London, our weary group traveled to Paris, Munich, through Austria and Switzerland, into the northern mountains of Italy, along the German/French border, and then finally ended in London once again for the trip home. It encompassed every site imaginable in what can easily be considered an extremely short amount of time, and included travel by plane, train, and even the world's most expensive automobile ever made. It was a truly epic journey, visiting some of the most amazing sites and most breathtaking scenery one could ever imagine. Appendages were lost, relationships pushed to the edge, and some language barriers left fully intact. Yet still, ask any one of the brave souls who endured the trip, and I assure you only a memory of one the most eventful and wonderful vacations imaginable are left most prominent. I only hope it doesn't take long for me to visit that historic and beautiful continent once again, and hope that my videos might inspire you to take the plunge and visit Europe for yourself.
Paris, a beautifully romantic city with architecture unlike that of any other place in the world. It's an amazingly busy city, with people running from shop to shop, and everyone darting in and out of every corner and street in sight. It's a controlled chaos that I'm sure comes natural to anyone who has spent a lifetime navigating the streets. It's no secret that food is this cities passion, and I assure you it is nearly impossible to find a street restaurant or bakery that doesn't serve exclusively five star quality meals. Add to this the title of fashion capital of the world, and it becomes clear that this will not be a cheap trip through the French metropolis. Paris truly has a little bit of everything, and when including the gardens of Versailles it is easy to see why this is a travel destination on just about everyone's list. In the end, I must admit that the city was relatively dirty compared to the other sparkling cities on our trip, the people were a little less willing to speak English (Spanish works), and the weather was a constant slow rain for the 3 days we were there. Still, I by no means regret visiting and despite being left with a been there, done that mentality, I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone setting off for a Europe vacation.
