Forenza is a town and comune in the province of Potenza, Basilicata, southern Italy. It is bounded by the comuni of Acerenza, Avigliano, Filiano, Ginestra, Maschito, Palazzo San Gervasio, Pietragalla, Ripacandida. American World War I veteran Antonio Pierro was born in Forenza in 1896. The village of Forenza is built on a hill top near the ruins of the ancient Samnite city of Forentum, which was occupied by the ancient Romans in 317 BC and destroyed during the Gothic War of 535–553 AD.

Padula Charterhouse, in Italian Certosa di Padula , is a large Carthusian monastery, or charterhouse, located in the town of Padula, in the Cilento National Park, in Southern Italy. It is a World Heritage site. The monastery is the largest in Italy. Its building history covers 450 years, but the principal parts of the buildings are in Baroque style. It is a very large monastery, comprising 51,500 m² , with 320 rooms and halls.

Dream of Italy 1: Full Umbria Episode

In the third episode of Dream of Italy (new PBS travel series), we go to the green heart of Italy- Umbria. In Perugia, host Kathy McCabe In Perugia, we meet two women carrying on their family traditions — Maddalena Forenza creating stained glass and Marta Cucchia and her handmade textiles. Just outside Perugia, at the Perugina Chocolate School, chocolate maestro Massimiliano Guidubaldi teaches host Kathy McCabe to make the famous Baci candy. Then it is into the countryside around Montefalco to visit the ultra-modern winery Tenuta Castelbuono and learn about the local Sagrantino grape with Marco Caprai at the Arnaldo Caprai vineyard. Kathy enjoys a cooking lesson with Chef Salvatore Denaro. We are then off to a goat cheese farm to meet Diego Calcabrina and his goats and then it is time to harvest precious saffron and forage for greens with Marta Giampiccolo. Me and my sister Silvia went on a trip to Northern Italy in August.
This is the 1st clip, I'm gonna do more dedicated to mio fratello Redneckpepi64.
These were the places we went to
Pepi's - South of Milan
Langhe, Barolo in Piedmont S. of Turin
The North-Western shore of the Mediterranean (little town called Andora, just a few miles from the French border)
Back to Pepi's for a great evening eating, drinking and laughing with Pepi and the jam you might have seen
Lago Maggiore - a lake right in the Alps which partially belongs to Switzerland, but most of it belongs to Italy
Gotta thank my lovely sister Silvia: This was the first time we did this and I had a really great time.

Madonna del lauro 2015 - Scalea Calabria Italy Local traditional feast

The local feast of the Madonna del Lauro is celebrated each 9th September. The procession takes place from her church in Scalea town to the beach where she gets loaded on a boat and everyone follows with the procession at sea to the Talao Tower. Up on her return to the loading sea bay splendid fireworks are exploded.
