Frederiksoord is a town in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Westerveld, and lies about 24 km northwest of Hoogeveen. It was the headquarters of the 19th century Society of Humanitarianism. In 2001, the town of Frederiksoord had 254 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.24 km², and contained 481 residences. The statistical area Frederiksoord, which can also include the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 370.

    The Zuiderzee Museum, located on Wierdijk in the historic center of Enkhuizen, is a Dutch museum devoted to preserving the cultural heritage and maritime history from the old Zuiderzee region. With the closing of the Afsluitdijk on May 28, 1932, the Zuiderzee was split in two parts: the waters below the Afsluitdijk are now called the IJsselmeer, while the waters north of it are called the Waddenzee.
