Frontone is a comune in the Province of Pesaro e Urbino in the Italian region of Marche, located about 60 kilometres west of Ancona and about 45 kilometres southwest of Pesaro. Frontone borders the following municipalities: Cagli, Cantiano, Pergola, Scheggia e Pascelupo, Serra Sant'Abbondio. The town is home to a Rocca , designed, among the others, by Francesco di Giorgio Martini.

    The Fortress of San Leo is a castle on the border of the Romagna and Marche; the castle is best known as the site where Count Cagliostro died. It was one of the palaces owned by Federico da Montefeltro and his wife Battista Sforza and was a fortified, palatial retreat. It is now a museum.
