Gorey is a market town in north County Wexford, Ireland. It is beside the main M11 Dublin to Wexford road. The town is also connected to the railway network along the same route. Local newspapers include the Gorey Guardian and Gorey Echo. Gorey is one hour drive from the southern outskirts of Dublin, connected to the capital via the N11/M11. As a commuter town, there has been an increase in population in the early 21st century. Between 1996 and 2002 the population rose by 44% in the town and by 23% in the surrounding district, with the population exceeding 10,000 for the first time by the 2016 census.

  • 2. Wells House & Gardens Gorey
    Wells House and Gardens is a Victorian tudor gothic country house museum, located around 7 km outside of Kilmuckridge, County Wexford. It was designed by Daniel Robertson in the 1830s. It was opened to the general public in July 2012 and is the most visited attraction in the county of Wexford, being named Ireland's Best Family Day Out by Today FM in 2015. The house has extensive gardens, an animal farm, a cafe and a children's playground. Archery and falconry are also practised. It is found on the R741 road, near the small village of Ballyedmond and about 18 km south of Gorey. It features as a suggested stop on the Ireland's Ancient East touring area. A number of local businesses have been housed on the grounds, including a wildlife sanctuary which closed in 2016.

    Not to be confused with Cranford, Donegal, a small village in Northeast Donegal, Ireland Craanford is a small village in north County Wexford, Ireland, situated on the R725 regional road midway between Gorey and Carnew. It is closely associated with the Irish Rebellion of 1798. The village features an early 17th-century corn mill which has been restored and a small church. Craanford also has an aqua park at the bottom of the village. The River Lask also flows through Craanford.

    Movies@ Ltd. is a cinema chain in the Republic of Ireland. The company opened its first multiplex cinema at the Dundrum Town Centre on 1 October 2005, with 12 screens. Other sites include the Pavilions Centre, Swords which opened in mid November 2006, and Gorey, Co. Wexford. A branch was proposed to be located in Salthill, County Galway in Autumn 2007, but has not yet opened. The company bears some resemblance to the largest Irish cinema chain, the Ward Anderson group, in that it is a family owned business run by members of two families, in this case the O'Gorman family and the Spurling family who are also involved in rural cinemas, albeit having closed one due to being in relative proximity to a Movies@ site.

Pretty fishing villages, bird watching on the mudflats of Bannow Estuary, deep sea angling, snorkeling and swimming are part of the area's maritime life.
