Gurro is a comune in the Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 140 kilometres northeast of Turin and about 20 kilometres northeast of Verbania. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 288 and an area of 13.2 square kilometres .Gurro borders the municipalities of Cavaglio-Spoccia, Cursolo-Orasso, Falmenta and Miazzina. Gurro is said to be populated by the descendents of Scottish soldiers.
