Isiolo is a town in the former Eastern Province, Kenya. It is situated in the Upper Eastern sub-region, and lies 285 kilometres north of Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya. The town grew around the local military camps, much of the population being descended from former Somali soldiers who had fought in World War I as well as other Cushitic-speaking pastoral communities and the Ameru community. The town has an estimated population of 80,000 people, most of them living in the rural outbacks of the District. Hi Everyone, I'm Dilys. Welcome to The Desert Island Travelers. We are a husband, wife and infant trio who moved from the Caribbean to the Middle East. We travel a lot for work...and play... and have picked up a few tips along the way. We started this channel to share some of them with you.

We decided to take a trip to the African Continent for this vacation. We had never been and decided that there was nothing better for a 4 year old than seeing all the animals he knew up close.

Turkana road trip

Our crew of 13 to Lodwar, Turkana County for a live shoot the next day but missed our flight. the Live shoot was to start at 10am the following morning. What resulted was a race against time. The journey was 690kms of rough road and bad challenging weather.

Part Seven | Addis to Moyale.

For our second part of outreach, we made our way down south towards a town on the border of Ethiopia and Kenya, called Moyale. We spent one week on the Ethiopian side and five weeks on the Kenyan side.
We spent our time ministering to Muslims, working in schools, prisons and churches, teaching about worship and music, doing street ministry and so much more. Check out the video for a little glimpse!
