The Nile crocodile is an African crocodile, the largest freshwater predator in Africa, and may be considered the second-largest extant reptile and crocodilian in the world, after the saltwater crocodile . The Nile crocodile is quite widespread throughout sub-Saharan Africa, occurring mostly in the central, eastern, and southern regions of the continent, and lives in different types of aquatic environments such as lakes, rivers, and marshlands. Although capable of living in saline environments, this species is rarely found in saltwater, but occasionally inhabits deltas and brackish lakes. The range of this species once stretched northward throughout the Nile, as far north as the Nile delta. On average, the adult male Nile crocodile is between 3.5 and 5 m in length and weighs 225 to 750 kg ....

6. Maramagambo Forest Queen Elizabeth National Park
Maramagambo Forest is located in Bushenyi, Uganda. It is part of the Queen Elizabeth National Park and is located in the southern part of the forest. It is famously associated with its Bat Cave where a tourist from the Netherlands was exposed to Marburg virus present in the bats that live in the volcanic tube cave and developed Marburg virus disease. Following this outbreak, the cave was closed until the construction of a viewing platform with support from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The forest is bordered by two crater lakes named Lake Kyasanduka and Lake Nyamasingiri. Many chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys and Bates's pygmy antelopes can be found here.

8. Mount Sabinyo Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Mount Sabyinyo is an extinct volcano in eastern Africa in the Virunga Mountains. It is north-east of Lake Kivu, one of the African Great Lakes, and west of Lake Bunyonyi in Uganda. The summit of the mountain, at 3,669 metres , marks the intersection of the borders of the Democratic Republic of the Congo , Rwanda, and Uganda. It also is within the adjoining national parks established by these countries: Virunga National Park in the DRC, the Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda. The slopes of Mt. Sabyinyo are a habitat for the critically endangered mountain gorilla. The mountain carries the local nickname Old Man's Teeth because its serrated summit resembles worn teeth in a gum line .

Long Walk In Jinja, Uganda (Source of the Nile)

Jinja is a town in Uganda, about 80km from Kampala. Population of around 75,000. It is situation on Lake Victoria...and is famously know as the source of the Nile.

I stayed at the City Hotel in downtown Jinja. Cost around $21 per night. It is situated in the mall shown at the start of the video.

Uganda Part 11: Jinja, Bujagali Falls

5.8.2011 day 14 of our itinerary: Today we will visit the Bujagali Falls (actually its not realy a waterfall - it's a series of cataracts). Very good for rafting. I am not sure, if this natur-wonder can be seen right now when I am typing this sentence due to the new hydropower station, which will flood everything here. Realy sorry - but Uganda needs the energy as we all needs energy.
