FIREFLY FOREST | FRANCE
France has a lot to offer when it comes to Nature. In the South, there are big forests untouched by humans, where incredible plants, animal and creatures live. Some are very elusive, and some only present during a short period of the year. That's the case for these fireflies and glowworms. These magical insects only appear for a few weeks in the summer (July - August) to mate.
The females are the only ones to make light. They do it to attract males who fly in search for them. Their colors can be different, and some emit more light then others.
I think we can all agree these creatures are Magical!

Jumilhac-le-Grand : Au bord de L'Isle
Le panoramearth est pris du chemin de randonnée qui, à cet endroit, passe sur la berge droite de la rivière l'Isle. Nous sommes au creux du vallon où coule la rivière et la vidéo commence par un zoom vertigineux sur une villa qui domine la vallée (entre le fond de la vallée et le bord du coteau, la hauteur est d'une soixantaine de mètres environ). Suit un beau panorama ensoleillé sur le flanc du coteau rive gauche. A la seconde 36, on aperçoit le château au-dessus des arbres. A la seconde 43, un ensemble table et bancs de bois pour le pique-nique et la rivière tapie dans l'ombre en arrière plan. A la seconde 56, zoom sur l'une des biches d'élevage qui broutent sur ce flanc du coteau. A 1 minute 27 secondes, à peine discernable dans l'ombre du sous-bois, c'est par là que grimpe le chemin de randonnée sur l'autre versant de la vallée. A la fin de la vidéo, le chemin de randonnée qui arrive. Le nom de Jumilhac-le-Grand vient du nom des propriétaires du magnifique château des 13-17e siècles. En effet, la famille des Jumilhac était très implantée dans la région suite aux pouvoirs accordés par Henri IV, Roi de France. Le terme « le Grand » vient de la taille du château, très importante (le château peut être visité). Jumilhac est connu pour l'activité d'exploitation de l'or. Des mines antiques à celle récemment fermée du Bourneix, l'or a marqué le patrimoine comme les paysages.

In 2002 the owners chose the perfect spot to build their one-storey 4-bedroomed home with private pool and large - now mature - garden, surrounded by vineyards and valleys.
The attention to detail is astounding. The property has oil-fired underfloor heating plus radiators and an air-conditioning system which regulates the temperature throughout the year.
The first thing that strikes you when you enter the property is the amount of light coming in through the large double-glazed windows. The spacious open plan living/dining room offers a choice of seating and dining arrangements, depending on the number of guests.
