    Norefjell is a mountain range in the Scandes Mountains system in Norway. It stretches between the valleys of Eggedal and Hallingdal . It covers parts of the municipalities Flå, Sigdal, and Krødsherad, all in the county Buskerud.The highest peaks within the mountain range are: Gråfjell, 1,468 m Høgevarde, 1,459 m Norefjell Ski Resort is an alpine ski resort located in the municipality Krødsherad. It is about one and a half hours drive north of Oslo. Norefjell was host to the downhill and giant slalom competitions of the 1952 Winter Olympics. The Norefjell mountain range is named after the old farm Nore . The last element is fjell meaning 'mountain'.

  • 2. Gaustatoppen Rjukan
    Gaustatoppen is the highest mountain in the county Telemark in Norway which lies in the municipality Tinn and Hjartdal. The view from the summit is impressive, as one can see an area of approximately 60,000 km², one sixth of Norway's mainland. The mountain is popular for downhill skiing in winter, and competitions have been held on its slopes. These competitions include the Norseman triathlon, billed as the world's most brutal iron-distance triathlon. It starts in Eidfjord and finishes at the top of Gaustatoppen. The summit is accessible on foot in the summer, on a rocky pathway of medium difficulty, although the southern side of the mountain is very dangerous and inaccessible. The wreckage of an airplane crash lies there, as it is too difficult to remove it.

    Hemsedal is a municipality in Buskerud county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Hallingdal. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Trøym. Hemsedal lies on the Norwegian National Road 52 . Hemsedal is located 220 km northwest of Oslo and 273 km from Bergen. In 1897, Hemsedal was separated from the municipality of Gol to become a municipality of its own.
