  • 1. Chateau de Vaux-le-Vicomte Maincy
    The Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte is a baroque French château located in Maincy, near Melun, 55 kilometres southeast of Paris in the Seine-et-Marne département of France. Built between 1658 to 1661 for Nicolas Fouquet, Marquis de Belle Île, Viscount of Melun and Vaux, the superintendent of finances of Louis XIV, the château was an influential work of architecture in mid-17th-century Europe. At Vaux-le-Vicomte, the architect Louis Le Vau, the landscape architect André le Nôtre, and the painter-decorator Charles Le Brun worked together on a large-scale project for the first time. Their collaboration marked the beginning of the Louis XIV style combining architecture, interior design and landscape design. The garden's pronounced visual axis is an example of this style.

    Château de Beauregard is a former house in La Celle-Saint-Cloud south-west suburbs of Paris, 5 km north of Versailles.The name of the domain seems to have its roots in the Middle Ages. The château was built on a top of a hill between La Celle-Saint-Cloud and Le Chesnay. In the early 17th century, the house was owned by the du Val family, Pierre du Val was the House master of king of France. Then the château was the property of the Montaigu family, which rented it. During the Revolution and Empire eras, ownership of the château changed often. In the mid 19th century, Harriet Howard bought the house and its park. She also bought the Béchevet farm and the Bel-Ébat stud farm, marking a very large 184 ha property. The château was in a poor condition; she rebuilt it in a neo-classical sty...
