Le Creusot is a commune in the Saône-et-Loire department in the region of Bourgogne in eastern France. The inhabitants are known as Creusotins. Formerly a mining town, its economy is now dominated by metallurgical companies such as ArcelorMittal, Schneider Electric, and Alstom. Since the 1990s, the town has been developing its tourism credentials. Its main attraction is the Parc des Combes. The Creusot steam hammer is exposed as a tourist attraction in a square at the entrance to the town from the south. Le Creusot is also the second educational centre of the Bourgogne , with its IUT and the Condorcet university centre.

Cluny Abbey is a former Benedictine monastery in Cluny, Saône-et-Loire, France. It was dedicated to St Peter. The abbey was constructed in the Romanesque architectural style, with three churches built in succession from the 4th to the early 12th centuries. The earliest basilica was the world's largest church until the St. Peter's Basilica construction began in Rome.Cluny was founded by William I, Duke of Aquitaine in 910. He nominated Berno as the first Abbot of Cluny, subject only to Pope Sergius III. The abbey was notable for its stricter adherence to the Rule of St. Benedict, whereby Cluny became acknowledged as the leader of western monasticism. Elle doit son nom à sa proximité historique avec les nombreuses écoles et collèges médiévaux qui l'entourent et qu'elle joint.

I visited these two places in France for 6 days for attending a scientific conference entitled 'Dynamic Interplay Between Membrane and Cytoskeletal Systems. It happened at the Congrexpo in a village called Dijon. Beautiful place, away from the city - calm and quite. I stayed visited Paris for a very short period of time and could able to see only couple of places. Its worth traveling across France.
