A PRAIA de VIEIRA DE LEIRIA, localizada no concelho de Marinha Grande, distrito de Leiria, teve origem na actividade piscatória, que foi um dos factores da fixação populacional.Com um areal que se estende por vários Kms, esta praia tem condições excepcionais para a prática de desportos de água, tais como o surf e o body board, srndo também uma das praias mais procuradas da região para a prática de kitesurf, devido aos constantes ventos que sopram do norte.Uma das curiosidades desta vila é a Capela dos Pescadores, um dos raros exemplares de edifícios religiosos construídos em madeira em 1973, no local onde existia uma pequena capela construída em alvenaria. Uma das bases de sustentação desta localidade e que atrai muitos turistas é a gastronomia, donde se destacam os pratos confeccionados à base de marisco. Portugal Travel Guide - Monastery of Batalha
Take a tour of Batalha Monastery in Batalha, Portugal -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats.
Located in Portugal's District of Leiria, is Batalha Monastery, an ornate Gothic and medieval Portuguese style convent.
Construction drudged on from the late fourteenth century until the early sixteenth century, making the building period over 130 years.
The convent was built by King Joao after the Portuguese army beat the Castilians in 1385, resulting in independence of Portugal from Spanish rule.
The interior contains Manueline style decor, such as the elaborate 15th and 16th century stained glass windows.
The limestone exterior displays rows of stone sculptures along with ribbons and borders of delicately etched stonework.
Though the once gray exterior has yellowed through time, the convent is well preserved and contains lavish historical treasures.

Bragança virtual visit .Os celtas baptizaram a cidade, fundada no século II a.C., com o nome de Brigância, que se foi latinizando até passar a ser Bragança. Este nome é a origem do gentílico mais comum: brigantino.
Na área do actual concelho de Bragança, existia já uma povoação importante ao tempo da ocupação romana. Durante algum tempo, teve a designação de Julióbriga, dada a Brigância pelo imperador Augusto em homenagem a seu tio Júlio César.
Destruída durante as guerras entre cristãos e mouros, encontrava-se em território pertencente ao mosteiro beneditino de Castro de Avelãs quando a adquiriu, por troca, em 1130, Fernão Mendes de Bragança, cunhado de Dom Afonso Henriques. Reconstruída no lugar de Benquerença, Dom Sancho I concedeu-lhe foral em 1187, e libertou-a em 1199 do cerco que lhe impusera Afonso IX de Leão, pondo-lhe, então, definitivamente, o nome de Bragança. O regente Dom Pedro, em 1442, elevou Bragança a cabeça de ducado concedido a seu irmão ilegítimo dom Afonso, 8º conde de Barcelos, que fora genro de Dom Nuno Álvares Pereira.

Highlights of Portugal
Portugal is a beautiful country at the southwestern corner of Europe. It is historic, it is very cultural, it is diverse, it is a gem. To me it is the most interesting country of southern Europe, And its people are friendly and hospitable.
This slide video takes you to a few lovely spots in Portugal beginning with its beautiful capital city of Lisbon. Lisbon is the hilliest large city in the world and it is filled with charming neighborhoods and scenic views. Restaurants, cafes, and music are abundant in its narrow cobblestoned back alleys. Its mosaic tiled sidewalks lead to many fascinating adventures.
A great daytrip from Lisbon is to head north to the famous Shrine of Fatima. And near here is the incomparable Cathedral of Batalha. Don't forget to make a visit to Portugal's
magnificent sea coast. The village of Nazaré is scenic, very old and has beautiful beaches. It is also the home of the largest surfing wave ever surfed at 90 feet high (around 30 meters). The nearby medieval town of Obidos clinging to a hillside is not to be missed.
Finally, Portugal's second city and the pride of north Portugal - Porto (Oporto) - should be on everyone's list. Hilly like Lisbon, it is splendidly situated on the River Douro. And don't forget to take a tour of one of its famous Port Wine houses.

PORCHES, located in the municipality of Lagoa, Algarve, is a small village of white houses, with windows and doors framed with painted bar and characteristic chimneys of this region, holding the attention of anyone who passes by.
Known for its potter activity, has several craft shops with a large variety of ceramic products of the region, there are really beautiful paintings in shades of blue and yellow.
There are some architectural heritage, such as the Porches Church with a sober facade, and inside there's the Sacred Chapel dedicated to Nossa Srª da Encarnação with a gilded altarpiece.*carl0spais*2012.
