Ocean City is on New Jersey's coastal Jersey Shore. The city has a string of beaches and a boardwalk with shops, eateries and amusement parks. Gillian’s Wonderland Pier offers classic rides like the Giant Wheel. Playland’s Castaway Cove features several roller coasters and themed mini-golf. To the south, Corson’s Inlet State Park, with trails and a boat launch, attracts shorebirds to its dunes and wetlands.
Ocean City originated as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on May 3, 1884, from portions of Upper Township, based on results from a referendum on April 30, 1884, and was reincorporated as a borough on March 31, 1890. Ocean City was incorporated as a city, its current government form, on March 25, 1897. The city is named for its location on the Atlantic Ocean.
Known as a family-oriented seaside resort, Ocean City has prohibited the sale of alcoholic beverages within its limits since its founding in 1879, offering miles of guarded beaches, a boardwalk that stretches for 2.5 miles (4.0 km), and a downtown shopping and dining district. The Travel Channel rated Ocean City as the Best Family Beach of 2005. It was ranked the third-best beach in New Jersey in the 2008 Top 10 Beaches Contest sponsored by the New Jersey Marine Sciences Consortium. In the 2009 Top 10 Beaches Contest, Ocean City ranked first.

At the northern tip of Cape May County, it is perfectly situated for a vacation; just 20 minutes from Atlantic City, 70 minutes from Philadelphia, and two hours from New York. Our two and a half mile boardwalk is the central focus of Ocean City's attractions. It is lined up with shops and restaurants of every kind, movie theaters, amusement rides, miniature golf courses, and a water park like no other. Since the late 1800’s, the population of Ocean City has grown rapidly. It remains a premier summer destination for all ages who enjoy the 8 miles of guarded beaches along the coast.

Mays Landing Campground Review || Full Time RV Living
We stayed at the Mays Landing Campground in Mays Landing, NJ for two weeks in July 2018. We don't like giving bad reviews but we can't help it with this one. This is an Encore property that we stayed at with our Trails Collection package through Thousand Trails. They charge an additional $20 a night and we do not think it's worth it. There are other Thousand Trails parks in New Jersey that have better reviews and no additional charge. Stick around to the end to hear all of the negatives we found at this park.
