Basilica di San Bassiano e Area archeologica di Lodi Vecchio
Lodi Vecchio dista 10 chilometri da Lodi, nel luogo in cui sorgeva la città romana di Laus Pompeia, distrutta dai milanesi in due occasioni nel 1111 e nel 1158, anno in cui i lodigiani decisero di fondare una nuova città sulle sponde dell'Adda.
Nell'area archeologica di Lodi Vecchio sono visibili alcuni resti dell'antica cattedrale, così come sono raccolti alcuni reperti nel Museo di recente allestito. Fu questo il luogo in cui il primo vescovo della neonata diocesi di Lodi decise di costruire la sua prima chiesa.
San Bassiano edificò lungo un'importante strada di pellegrinaggio una basilica che venne ricostruita nel X e nel XIV secolo, prima con forme romaniche e poi gotiche, con elementi caratteristici quali la facciata a vento e le bifore a tutto cielo.
La basilica inizialmente consacrata ai XII Apostoli, fu dedicata a San Bassiano dopo la sua morte. All'interno numerosi dipinti che ritraggono soprattutto la vita agricola e il bellissimo affresco del catino absidale raffigurante il Cristo Pantocratore.

Basilica of St Bassiano and archeological site of Lodi Vecchio
Lodi Vecchio is 10 km west of Lodi, in the site of the Roman town of Laus Pompeia, destroyed by the Milanese in 1111 and in 1158, when the people of Lodi decided to found a new city on the banks of the river Adda.
In the archaeological site of Lodi Vecchio there are some remains of the ancient cathedral, as well as some findings are collected in the Museum recently set up. This was the place where the first bishop of the newly formed Diocese of Lodi decided to build its first church.
San Bassiano built, along an important road of a pilgrimage, the church that was rebuilt in the tenth and in the fourteenth century, first with Romanesque and then Gothic.
The basilica, dedicated initially to the XII Apostles, was dedicated to St. Bassiano after his death. Inside numerous paintings depicting mainly the agricultural life and the beautiful frescoes in the apse depicting the Christ Pantocrator.

In September 2007 me and my sister went to Italy by car. We didn't use a GPS, we only used maps.
From Västerås in Sweden to Nápoli in Italy and back: 5800 kilometres.

We stayed at a hotel that was owned by nuns.
Lago di Garda is the largest lake in Italy. It is located in Northern Italy.
PARMA is a city in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna.

ROMA is the capital city of Italy, region of Lazio.
One of the hottest day on our trip.
LA SERRA, BAIA DOMIZIA
We stayed here for a week, it's a very nice place and very close to the sea.
Baia Domizia is at the boarder of the regions Lazio and Campania.
180 km south of Roma and 60 km north of Nápoli.
POMPEI is a ruined and partially buried Roman town-city near modern Naples in the Italian region of Campania. The city was destroyed, and completely buried, during a long catastrophic eruption of the volcano Mount VESUVIO spanning two days in AD 79.
The volcano collapsed higher roof-lines and buried Pompeii under 60 feet of ash and pumice, and it was lost for nearly 1700 years before its accidental rediscovery in 1748.
Pompei is one of the coolest and most interesting places I've ever been to!
GIARDINO DEI TAROCCHI - THE TAROT GARDEN
Niki de Saint Phalle (b.1930d.2002) was a French sculptor, painter, and film maker.
In 1979, she acquired some land in Garavicchio, Tuscany, about 100 km north-west of Rome along the coast. The garden, called Giardino dei Tarocchi in Italian, contains sculptures of the symbols found on Tarot cards. The garden took many years, and a considerable sum of money, to complete. It opened in 1998, after more than 20 years of work.
A very nice park with beautiful sculptures!

CARRARA is a city in the province of Massa-Carrara (Tuscany, Italy), famous for the white or blue-gray marble quarried there. Carrara marble has been used since the time of Ancient Rome; the Pantheon and Trajan's Column in Rome are constructed of it. Many sculptures of the Renaissance, such as Michelangelo's David, were carved from Carrara marble. For Michelangelo at least, Carrara marble was valued above all other stone, except perhaps that of his own quarry in Pietrasanta. The Marble Arch in London and the Duomo di Siena are also made from this stone.
It was very scary to drive in that tunnel, it was so dark and alot of dust, that you almost couldn't see anything. My darkblue car was white after the dust from the Carrara marble.

The South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology in Bolzano is where the ice-mummy Ötzi is kept.

CELLE is a town and capital of the district of Celle, in Lower Saxony, Germany.
The most impressive building is the ducal palace, Schloss Celle, which was built in 1530 at the site of the former castle. The buildings in Celles old town centre date back to the 16th century, among them numerous (and some 480 restored) half-timber houses.
A very nice town with beautiful houses. I liked the Steakhouse :)

Museo Passatempo a Rossiglione
Nell'entroterra di Genova, a Rossiglione, vi è un museo dove è possibile fare un tuffo nel secolo scorso rivedendo oggetti che hanno fatto parte della nostra vita e che ora non ci sono più. Ma che sono stati conservati nel Museo Passatempo per far riaffiorare un ricordo, un'emozione. Michela ha sussultato rivedendo Susanna Tutta Panna! qual è invece l'oggetto dei Vostri ricordi? venite a Rossiglione, sicuramente lo troverete!
Il Museo PassaTempo è un sorprendente viaggio nella memoria e nel costume.
Un'ampia raccolta di moto, cicli e oggetti d'epoca funzionanti, ricostruisce la storia italiana del novecento, in particolare del secondo dopoguerra.
Notevole è la sezione dedicata alle macchine da scrivere Olivetti, non manca la preferita di Indro Montanelli.
L'esposizione è articolata in due parti distinte, la preesistente Casa-Museo, che ospitando oggetti di varia natura ricostruisce gli ambienti appartenenti al secolo passato, e la nuova Sede Civica, allestita nella vecchia scuola elementare comunale ...

Bergamo città 4K
Bergamo, un'altra bellissima città della Lombardia, si aggiunge alla lista dei video del mio canale. Nel breve filmato: il fascino da Borgo medievale di Città Alta con la splendida Piazza Vecchia e circondata dalle Mura costruite da Venezia, la Città Bassa non meno ricca di storia e cultura con i suoi Borghi e le vie dello shopping, la maestosità del Cimitero Monumentale, le viste dall'alto riprese dalle Mura, dalla Torre Civica, da San Vigilio e dalla Torre dei Caduti, Porta Nuova da dove è possibile godere dell'inquadratura di tutta la Città nel suo complesso.
Le tecniche adoperate sono: quella tradizionale nella prima parte dove la musica è più lenta, il Time lapse nella seconda dove la musica si fa più dinamica.

Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta di Lodi
Il Duomo di Lodi è il principale edificio religioso della città, nonché uno dei primi ad essere eretti sulla piazza ai tempi della fondazione di Laus Nova nel 1158. L'architettura romanica è stata nel tempo modificata con elementi rinascimentali cinquecenteschi (visibili in facciata) e pesanti interventi interni barocchi nel '700. Tali aggiunte e decori barocchi vennero totalmente rimossi con il radicale restauro del secolo scorso che ha riportato il Duomo di Lodi quasi al suo aspetto medievale originario.
La Basilica è sede della Cattedra del Vescovo e chiesa parrocchiale di Santa Maria Assunta. Nella cripta riposano le spoglie dei Santi Patroni di Lodi: San Bassiano e Sant'Alberto.
