Landscape of Honghe Hani Rice Terraces & unusual destinations in CHINA
China is home to a whole list of unusual landscapes and points of interest but not many of them get their own spot on the UNESCO World Heritage list. The Chinese landscape of Honghe Hani Rice Terraces is considered to be the living monument of the farming system, created by the Hani people.
Historians say that these terraces were first used for farming needs (cultivation of fish and red rice) over 1,300 years ago and have gone though several stages of development in their time. Nowadays, tourists visit these rice terraces for the aerial view on this incredible landscape.
But there is much more to China and the rest of the world, as we can recommend a whole list of unusual places in the world. Here is our interactive video presentation:
In our video clip we have reviewed such places:
- The Waitomo Glowworm Caves, North Island, New Zealand;
- Salar De Uyuni, Bolivia;

- and many more to come.

Second Tallest Statue in the World - Spring Temple Buddha
The Spring Temple Buddha statue is second tallest statue in the world. Standing at 153 m (503 ft) it is a truly awesome sight to behold. It reminds me of the bronze giant in Jason and the Argonauts but in a nice way. Once you have seen this statue, you won't want to see any other statue (except for the Statue of Liberty), it really is quite amazing.
