Luzerne County is a county in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 906 square miles , of which 890 square miles is land and 16 square miles is water. It is Northeastern Pennsylvania's second-largest county by total area. As of the 2010 census, the population was 320,918, making it the most populous county in the northeastern part of the state. The county seat and largest city is Wilkes-Barre. Other populous communities include Hazleton, Kingston, Nanticoke, and Pittston. 1. Indian Echo Caverns Hummelstown
Indian Echo Caverns is a show cave in Derry Township near Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, USA. The limestone caves are open for the public to visit via guided tour. The entrance to the caverns used by modern visitors is located in a bluff along the Swatara Creek. A second entrance was sealed for security purposes when the caverns were commercialized in the late 1920s. The known portions of the caverns, most of which have been commercialized, represent the intersection of two passages: the eastern cavern and the northern cavern, which meet at right angles to form a large space known as the Indian Ballroom. Given the large and accessible natural openings the caverns were likely utilized by Native Americans for storage and shelter, however no evidence of such use has survived. The location was pre...

Ricketts Glen State Park is one of the most scenic areas in Pennsylvania. This large park is comprised of 13,050 acres in Luzerne, Sullivan, and Columbia counties.

Ricketts Glen harbors the Glens Natural Area -- a National Natural Landmark. Hike the Falls Trail System to explore the glens, which boasts a series of wild, free-flowing waterfalls, each cascading through rock-strewn clefts in this ancient hillside.

The 94-foot Ganoga Falls is the highest of 22 named waterfalls. Old growth timber and diverse wildlife add to the beauty.

Central PA trip to the Scranton area and back

Mostly a daytime drive north on I-81 and related roads through Central Pennsylvania to the Dunmore area of the Scranton region. Some driving around in Scranton and then back south again. This was filmed in July of 2014. No Audio. And nothing exciting, just drivin and scenery.

Seven Tubs Natural Area near Wilkes-Barre

Short video of one of the Seven Tubs in a park a few miles outside of Wilkes-Barre. The tubs were carved out of sandstone in the last Ice Age.

Abandoned RR Bridge in Northeast, Pa

Abandoned railroad bridge in Northeast Pa is just rotting away. I tried to find the history of this bridge, but didn't have much luck. At one time it was part of the PRR and DL&W railroads.
