The Manjung District is a district in the southwestern part of the state of Perak, Malaysia. The district is well known for its Pangkor Island, a major attraction in Perak and the home of the Royal Malaysian Navy Lumut Naval Base and dockyard. Since the population is increasing, residential and commercial infrastructure is being developed. Dinding was once part of the British Straits Settlements colony. Seri Manjung is the district's principal urban center while smaller towns include Lumut town, Sitiawan town, Ayer Tawar, Pantai Remis and Beruas.

    Tempurung Cave is a cave in Gopeng, Perak, Malaysia. It is popular among spelunkers, or caving enthusiasts. More than 3 km long, it is one of the longest caves in Peninsula Malaysia. Part of it has been developed as a show cave with electric lighting and walkways and there are a range of tours of different lengths and difficulty. A fine river cave, the river passage runs about 1.6 km through the hill. There are three very large chambers and some spectacular stalactites and stalagmites. There are plans to develop the surrounding area. By the end of 2006 a go kart centre and a horse riding area had opened.

    Taiping is a town located in Larut, Matang and Selama District, Perak, Malaysia. It is located approximately 48 km northwest of Ipoh, the capital of Perak, and 78 km southeast of George Town, Penang. With a population of 245,182 , it is the second largest town in Perak after Ipoh, the state capital. Taiping took over Kuala Kangsar's role as the state capital from 1876 to 1937, but was then replaced by Ipoh. Its growth slowed down after that, but in recent years the town has been developing rapidly again. Perak State Museum is located in the town.
