The BEST weekend skiing in Méribel, France | Sophie's Suitcase
A ski holiday is one of my favourite types of holiday; the mountain air, the adrenaline, and the crisp white snow beneath your feet. I headed for a weekend break skiing in Méribel in January with Ski Total and it was exactly what the doctor ordered. If you didn't know already Méribel is a ski resort in the Tarentaise Valley in the French Alps, situated near the town of Moûtiers.
Méribel refers to three neighbouring villages in the Les Allues commune of the Savoie department of France, near the town of Moûtiers, called Méribel Centre, Méribel-Mottaret and Méribel Village. However all three areas are now basically one massive winter ski destination providing millions of holidays for families over the year. Skiing in Méribelis iconic!

Places Featured:
► Meribel. Part of the 3 valleys (des 3 Vallees). In winter the biggest skiing area in the world, and in summer a great starting point for hikes in the surrounding. We hiked to Col de la Lune (which provided us the great views over the mountains) and then on to our hut for the night.
► We stayed in Le Refuge du Christ. A very nice place, in the middle of nature, friendly people and amazing food!! Definitely recommended. Say hi to the hottub from me ;)
► Horse riding through the local forests and to the lake. Just a 2 hour trail, good for beginners. Ask at the local tourism office for information and tours.
► I asked Savoie Mont Blanc if they could make this trip possible for us, and they did.

MERIBEL SKIING HIGHLIGHTS (HD) - 2017
In January 2017 I embarked on my annual ski trip, this time skiing in Meribel, in the Three Valleys, France. It was simply the best ski chalet holiday we've had, mainly thanks to Fish & Pips, and some great skiing, great apres, and great views. Here are the highlights from the Meribel 2017 ski trip, shot using a GoPro Hero 3+, Hero 4, Panasonic Lumix GX80 and an iPhone 6S. Footage from Meribel skiing includes the blue Biche run, the red Niverolle run and apres ski in La Folie Douce.
