Naarden, Netherlands
Naarden was granted its city rights in 1300 and later developed into a fortressed garrison town. The Saint-Vitus church is a gothic basilica built in the 14e/ 15e century. The church came into the hands of the Protestants in 1576. Of great importance are the 16th century painted timber vaults. The Town Hall dates from 1601 and is a good example of Netherlandish Renaissance.

Don't #1. Don't Call The Netherlands, Holland. Holland is actually only two of the twelve counties in The Netherlands.
Don't #2. Don't Think the Netherlands is Just Amsterdam. There are tons of other towns, cities and villages to visit. From the flowers in Keukenhof to the Beauty of Groningen.
Don't #3. Don't Be stupid with Drugs or Alcohol when you visit. The coffeeshops are world famous and you should never buy drugs off the street.
Don't #4. Don't just bite into hot food. The Dutch like their fried food hot as can be, so make sure you take a second to blow on it or else you might lose a few skin cells.
Don't #5. Don't Wander into the Bike Lanes in The Netherlands. Those bikes will get you.
Don't #6, Don't Take the Dutch Attitude Personally. The Dutch are very straightforward and will ask you anything. So don't be upset, just know that is just how they are.
Don't #7. Don't Forget to Bring a chip card with a PIN number for purchasing from person-less kiosks & shops.
Don't #8. Have coins with you so you can pick up a snack on the go.
Don't #9. Don't Be Surprised if you see all the Dutch Tourism Stereotypes when you visit. From wooden shoes to windmills to cheese to really tall people on bikes, you will see them.
Don't #10. Don't forget to buzz your train ticket card when you enter and exit the platforms/stations.
Don't #11. Don't Take pictures of the girls in the windows in the Red Light District.
Don't #12. Don't Take the Hop On Hop Off Bus in Amsterdam. The bus cannot go a lot of places in the historic center. You would be better off on the hop on hop off canal boat.
Don't #13. Don't think that Amsterdam is just the red light district. It is so much more with culture, food, art.
Don't #14. Don't forget to Bring a jacket. It will rain while you are there, even if it says sunny.

Winter in Volendam met fotograaf Jan Tuijp - Ultra HD 4K
Dit is een 4K video/slideshow met beelden van Volendam, zoals de miljoenen toeristen, die het bezochten, maar zelfs de meeste Volendammers hun eigen dorp nog nooit zagen.
Volendam heeft bijzonder veel fotogenieke plekjes, maar vooral als er sneeuw en ijs ligt s' winters, worden dit Anton Pieck-achtige taferelen. Ook vanuit de lucht. Deze video/slideshow is een greep uit mijn verzameling favoriete winter-foto's van Volendam, van de afgelopen 15 jaar; de meeste zijn nooit eerder gepubliceerd.
Ik moest er vaak met half bevroren ledematen bij nacht, kou en ontij, voor de deur uit, en als de weersomstandigheden het toe lieten voor naar Lelystad om luchtfoto's te maken vanuit mijn PH-BZN, waarin het met geopende kap - om foto's van het besneeuwde Volendam te maken,- ook heel koud was.
Sowieso is er vanuit het verleden op het gebied van winterse luchtfoto's van een besneeuwd Volendam bij mijn weten nog nooit iets gepubliceerd.
Kwalitatief goede winterse luchtfoto's zijn trouwens uniek; wellicht dat gebruik van drones, voorzien van professionele en betaalbare top-camera's daar in de toekomst verandering in gaan brengen, maar tot nu toe moest er een vliegtuig of heli aan te pas komen.
Je hebt dan een vliegtuig, een piloot en een fotograaf nodig, nou die had ik snel bij elkaar.... Dan moet er sneeuw of ijs liggen; maar niet op de starbaan, die moet sneeuwvrij gemaakt worden; het moet vliegweer zijn; en... het moet helder genoeg zijn om te fotograferen.
Meestal gaan deze voorwaarden niet samen.
Maak de fotografische strooptochten door en boven het koude Volendam en met mij mee door te kijken naar deze 4K video.
