Nanyuki is a market town in Laikipia County of Kenya lying northwest of Mount Kenya along the A2 road and at the terminus of the branch railway from Nairobi. It is situated just north of the Equator . It was founded in 1907 by British settlers, some of whose descendants still live in and around the town. Nanyuki is currently the main airfield of the Kenya Air Force. The British Army also keeps a base at The Nanyuki Show Ground from where it conducts yearly desert and jungle training exercises on the mountain and in the arid areas to the north.

The Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a 90,000-acre not-for-profit wildlife conservancy in Central Kenya's Laikipia County. It is situated on the equator west of Nanyuki, between the foothills of the Aberdares and Mount Kenya. The Ol Pejeta Conservancy works to conserve wildlife, provide a sanctuary for great apes and to generate income through wildlife tourism and complementary enterprises for re-investment in conservation and community development. SWEETWATERS TENTED CAMP, NANYUKI, KENYA. REVISED

There has been a lot of work carried out at Sweetwaters tented camp in the last year, and is on going. They have rebuilt the Reception, lounge, bar & kitchens, making them larger and more comfortable. The older tents are being upgraded and the new luxury tents have been a big success so 4/5 more are to be built. This video gives an over view of the whole camp with all the new construction work and luxury tents.

A Walk Through A Curio Shop - Narok, Kenya

This was a typical shop for souveniers along the tourist trail. Lots of wood carvings of various animals / people crafted from varying types of wood. The quality of the workmanship in this particular store was exceptional !!

No price tags on anything. You pick up what you want and start to deal. All items are subject to 'mzungu' pricing and nothing is cheap. Definitely haggle! Be ready to walk away and not get what you want.

We bought some cool things, but every time we did I felt like I needed a cigarette afterwards, and should have had dinner bought or kissed or something (if you get my meaning)!
