Neubiberg is a municipality south-east of Munich, Germany, founded in 1912. It used to have an airport that was used as a Luftwaffe-base in the Third Reich and after the war as a U.S. airbase and in the following years as the German Air Force officer school. Today the largest part of the area is used by Bundeswehr University Munich. Neubiberg consists mainly of semi-detached and detached houses and has lots of gardens. The village of Unterbiberg is part of the municipality. It hosts the headquarters of Infineon Technologies located in the west of Unterbiberg as well as the headquarters of Intel Deutschland GmbH, a wireless semiconductor business.

Lake Starnberg — called Lake Würm until 1962 — is Germany's fifth largest freshwater lake in terms of area and, due to its great average depth, the second largest in terms of water volume, after Lake Constance. The lake and its surroundings are an unincorporated area within the rural district of Starnberg; the lake itself is the property of the state of Bavaria and is administered by the Bavarian Administration of State-Owned Palaces, Gardens and Lakes. Located in southern Bavaria 25 kilometres southwest of Munich, Lake Starnberg is a popular recreation area for the city and, since 1976, one of the wetlands of international importance protected by the Ramsar Convention. Chiemsee is a freshwater lake in Bavaria, Germany, near Rosenheim. It is often called the Bavarian Sea. The rivers Großache and Prien flow into the lake from the south, and the river Alz flows out towards the north. The Alz flows into the Inn which then merges with the Danube. The Chiemsee is divided into the bigger, north section, in the northeast, called Weitsee, and the Inselsee, in the southwest. The Chiemgau, the region surrounding the Chiemsee, is a famous recreation area.

The Wildpark, founded in 1959 on the Ostrand of Poing by private hands, is a popular excursion destination near Munich. After eleven years of preparatory work, the park was opened in 1970. On an area of 570,000 m², it offers year-round the opportunity to observe native wild animals from close up. So today was May Day here in Germany, on this day it is traditional to raise the May tree or (Maibaum) in Bavaria. Just down the street from us they happen to be putting one up today. They do this every 2 years or so as it must be replaced due to weathering. OK, so they have this great party and many go to watch the process. There are bands, food beer and good vibes. So I got this GoPro cam for my bike that links with your smart phone and thought what a great place to test it out. So here is a video that is probably too long and lacks much professionalism but what the heck. It is May day and I am in Bavaria. PS mount cameras on something stable for best results (this is a little Blair Witch). BTW, the crane is only there for safety and the pole is lifted completely by hand.
