Royal Air Force Station Old Buckenham is a former Royal Air Force station located 2 miles south east of Attleborough, Norfolk, England which was used during World War II by the United States for the strategic bombing campaign against Germany. The airfield is in civilian use as Old Buckenham Airport. At the centre of the modern-day airfield is a black granite memorial to the 366 United States Army Air Force servicemen who died serving from the base in World War II. The 453rd Operations Group is an inactive United States Air Force unit. Its last assignment was to the 43d Air Refueling Wing, stationed at Souda Bay, Greece. It was activated as a temporary MAJCOM air refueling organization flying KC-135 Stratotankers as part of Operation Restore Hope. During World War II, its predecessor unit, the 453rd Bombardment Group was an Eighth Air Force B-24 Liberator heavy bombardment group stationed in England. Its 733d Bombardment Squadron completed 82 consecutive missions without a loss, a record. James Stewart, of film fame, was Group Operations Officer from March 31 to July 1, 1944.

Gorleston-on-Sea, also known colloquially as Gorleston, is a settlement in Norfolk, England, on the south of Great Yarmouth. Situated at the mouth of the River Yare it was a port town at the time of the Domesday Book. The port then became a centre of fishing for herring along with salt pans used for the production of salt to preserve the fish. In Edwardian times the fishing industry rapidly declined and the town's role changed to that of a seaside resort.

Banham Zoo is a 50-acre zoo in Banham, Norfolk, England. The zoo, which is home to over 2,000 animals, opened to the public in 1968, became a charity in 2013, and has since been often awarded the prize of Norfolk's Top Attraction, by numerous different organisations, with an annual visitor attendance of in excess of 200,000 people. It is part of the Zoological Society of East Anglia, a registered charity which also owns Africa Alive! near Lowestoft, Suffolk.

Thursford is a village and civil parish in the county of Norfolk, eastern England. The village is 16.3 miles southwest of Cromer, 24.5 miles northwest of Norwich and 121 miles north-east of London. The village lies 6.9 miles northwest of the nearby town of Fakenham. The nearest railway station is at Sheringham for the Bittern Line which runs between Sheringham, Cromer and Norwich. The nearest airport is Norwich International Airport. The village once had its own Thursford railway station which is now closed. It is a proposed stop on the Norfolk Orbital Railway. Thursford parish church is dedicated to St Andrew and has some fine examples of Victorian stained glass windows. The church was rebuilt in the early 1860s with money given by the Chadd family who lived in the nearby Thursford Hall.

Blickling is a village and civil parish in the Broadland district of Norfolk, England, about 1.5 miles north-west of Aylsham on the B1354 road. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 136 and covers 862 hectares , falling to 113 at the 2011 Census. Since the 17th century the village has been concentrated in two areas, around the church and also at the park gates of Blickling Hall. Most of the village is contained in the Blickling Estate, which has been owned by the National Trust since 1940.

The Friendly Invasion, East Anglia, UK

Their arrival had the biggest landscape and cultural impact of any in our history since the Norman Conquest. This film takes its inspiration from US propaganda film 'Welcome to Britain 1943' - and shows just how much things have changed... for the better!

Military Revival, Old Buckenham, 2014

A gathering of historical and classic military memorabilia at Old Buckenham Airfield in Norfolk. The second such event saw a welcome attendance of the Burma Chindits and their mules display, a Second World War Japanese display and an East German hospital and soldier. My thanks for their information and time. Also in appearance amongst the various vehicles, tanks and lorries (and a mobile crane) were WWII Soviet, American, British RAF Regiment, German forces and a Vietnam era Australian setup. The Alvis FV432 APC ride featured is one of two ride vehicles at the show, the other being a Vickers Self Propelled Gun. The music audible in parts of the footage is part of the 1940s vintage attractions which also featured a 1940s Hangar Dance.
