Oppland [²ɔplɑn] is a county in Norway, bordering Trøndelag, Møre og Romsdal, Sogn og Fjordane, Buskerud, Akershus, Oslo and Hedmark. The county administration is in Lillehammer. Oppland is, together with Hedmark, one of the only two landlocked counties of Norway. Innlandet is one of several names proposed for a future administrative region consisting of Hedmark and Oppland. The two counties are slated to be re-merged after having been split in 1781 . Historically, the region was commonly known as Opplandene.

    Lillehammer is a town and municipality in Oppland county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Gudbrandsdal. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Lillehammer. As of May 2011, the population of the town of Lillehammer was 26,639. The city centre is a late 19th-century concentration of wooden houses, which enjoys a picturesque location overlooking the northern part of lake Mjøsa and the river Lågen, surrounded by mountains. Lillehammer hosted the 1994 Winter Olympics and 2016 Winter Youth Olympics. Before Oslo's withdrawal from consideration, it was included as part of a bid to host events in the 2022 Winter Olympics if Oslo were to win the rights to hold the Games.

    Lillehammer Olympic Bobsleigh and Luge Track is a bobsleigh, luge and skeleton track located at Hunderfossen in Lillehammer, Norway, 15 kilometers north of the town center of Lillehammer. It was completed in 1992 for the 1994 Winter Olympics, where it hosted the bobsleigh events and luge events. It has since also hosted the FIBT World Championships 1995 in skeleton and the FIL World Luge Championships 1995, and hosted 2016 Winter Youth Olympics. Original plans called for the track to be located at Fåberg. Later it was proposed moved to Kanthaugen in the town center and then Holmenkollen in Oslo, before Hunderfossen was decided upon.     Kvitfjell is a ski resort in Norway, located in the municipality of Ringebu. Developed for the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, it is one of the most modern resorts in the world, with snowmaking on 80% of the alpine pistes. Based near the river Gudbrandsdalslågen, the resort offers 23 pistes: 5 green , 9 blue , 6 red , and 3 black . Kvitfjell is also home to a terrain park and 120 km of cross-country pistes, with access to 480 km extra in Skei and Gålå.

    Nordseter is a mountain cross country skiing area located 14 km from Lillehammer in Norway, not very far from Sjusjøen. The area is located at an altitude of approx. 850 meters above sea level, and offers skiing in the months from December through to the end of March. In the summers, the area is also popular for the locals and a growing number of tourists with many activities such as walking, kayaking, cycling, small game hunting and fishing. The area has been used for centuries as summer farms where the local farmers would take advantage of the thaw and take their animals into the lush mountainside to feed. In the early nineteen hundreds the first guest houses began to appear to entertain tourists and travellers.

    Hemsedal is a municipality in Buskerud county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Hallingdal. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Trøym. Hemsedal lies on the Norwegian National Road 52 . Hemsedal is located 220 km northwest of Oslo and 273 km from Bergen. In 1897, Hemsedal was separated from the municipality of Gol to become a municipality of its own.
