Oromia is one of the nine ethnically based regional states of Ethiopia, covering 286,612 square kilometers. It is bordered by the Somali Region to the east; the Amhara Region, the Afar Region and the Benishangul-Gumuz Region to the north; South Sudan, Gambela Region, and Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region to the west; and Kenya to the south. The 2011 census reported Oromia Region population is 55,000,000; making it the largest state in population.   • 1. Bale Mountains Goba
    Bale Mountains National Park is a national park of Ethiopia. The park encompasses an area of approximately 2,150 square kilometres in the Bale Mountains and Sanetti Plateau of the Ethiopian Highlands. The park's Afromontane habitats have one of the highest incidences of animal endemicity of any terrestrial habitat in the world. The park was nominated to the World Heritage Tentative List in 2009.

    Yabelo is a town in southern Ethiopia. An alternative name for this town is Obda, which is also the name of a nearby mountain. Located northwest of Moyale in the Borena Zone of the Oromia Region , this town has a latitude and longitude of 4°53′N 38°5′E and an elevation of 1857 meters above sea level. It has been the administrative center of the Borena Zone since its division from Guji Zone in September 2002, as well as Yabelo woreda. This town is reported to have two gas stations, telephone service, a post office and a commercial bank, as well as at least one primary and one secondary school.

    Chebera Churchura National Park is a national park located in Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region in the south west of Ethiopia. The park was founded by the regional government in 2005.The park covers 1,250 km2 and contains four types of habitat. Most of the park, 62%, is wooded grassland dominated by elephant grass , with montane woodland comprising 29% and woodland and riparian forest the rest. 37 species of large mammal, including African elephants, have been recorded in the park, and 237 species of bird.
