The Orono Bog Boardwalk, City Forest, Bangor ME
About a quarter of a mile from the beginning of East Trail, the 4,200-foot long Orono Bog Boardwalk enables visitors to City Forest to see a bog up close and personal without getting their feet wet.
The boardwalk, a joint venture by the city of Bangor, the University of Maine, and the Orono Land Trust, has seen tens of thousands of visitors since opening in June 2003.
The 4,200-foot long boardwalk begins off East Trail and takes walkers through thick forest of ferns, skunk cabbage, and moss before emerging into daylight.

Motorcycling through Coastal Maine's Fall Colors by Cyle O'Donnell
This beautiful trip took me through Old Town and Orono, Maine, just outside of Bangor. It was a short ride, but I had a few months of riding around coastal Maine before winter hit and kept me off the bike for the rest of the time I was there. And in all my time motorbiking the world's roadways, I've never posted one from inside the U.S. And since it's just as pretty here as anywhere else, I figured Why not?
IN this video are the amazing colors of fall enacting its color-changing magic on the leaves on all the trees; beautiful riverways and waterfalls; and even the old-world construction of early Anglo-Saxon influence indicative of the New England area.
