Travel Diary: Sanctuary of Fatima / Agroal, Portugal | misscamco
The Our Lady of Fátima Sanctuary in Fátima, Portugal is easily one of the world's most pilgrimaged sights. I was so happy to be able to visit the shrine. Praia Fluvial do Agroal in Ourem is known for the therapeutic properties of the water for the treatment of skin problems (eczema, psoriasis, etc). I didn't swim in the water though. I just put my legs in. There are restaurants, ice cream shop, cafes, and other little shops nearby where we stopped to eat mini clams :)

Sintra is both a town and a municipality in Portugal, located in the district of Lisbon. The town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site on account of its 19th century Romantic architecture.
It has become a major tourist attraction, with many day-trippers visiting from nearby Lisbon. Attractions include the fabulous Pena Palace and the Castelo dos Mouros with a breath-taking view of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, and the summer residence of the kings of Portugal Palácio Nacional de Sintra, in the town itself. Fátima is a city in Portugal famous for the religious visions that are said to have taken place there in 1917.
Fátima is a city of approximately 10,000 inhabitants located in the district of Santarém in central Portugal, 187 km south of Porto and 123 km north of Lisbon. Fátima is a parish (freguesia) in the municipality of Ourém.
