Hiliadou is one of the most famous beaches of Evia. In the old times, Hiliadou was a base of pirates. Several of the inhabitants of the surrounding area claim that their ancestors were pirates. Hiliadou is a large and for many reasons beautiful beach on the east side of the central island of Evia and is washed by the endless Aegean Sea. Hiliadou is a very distinguished place and managed to be known throughout Greece.
The name Hiliadou comes from the homonymous chapel (Panagia tis Chiliadou) located near the beach. It is a Byzantine cross-shaped temple. According to one version, Our Lady of Chiliades was the thousandth church built by The Empress Theodora.
Hiliadou is a partially sandy beach with sand and pebbles of any size, located at the foot of Mount Dirfi. Various rocks are sown in and out of the sea, dividing the coast into smaller beaches. The surrounding vegetation is dense: plane trees, chestnuts and ferns are everywhere and especially close to a small river that is finally poured into the sea.
On the northern and most isolated part of the beach you can find the no-textiles section. In the rocks around the beach of Hiliadou, the athletes of climbing often practice their skills.
Due to its rare beauty, the beach of Hiliadou is characterized by its fanatical fans. Friends of Hiliadou is a club with thousands of members, whose goal is to protect the beach.
Although it is forbidden, the beach of Hiliadou is a pole of attraction for many people who love the free camp. Also, along the beach there are outdoor showers used by campers.
A must-do in Hiliadou is to discover and explore it's caves. Either walking to reach them or swimming. A place with special energies.

The dark blue cave can be reached only by sea ( 10' swimming) at the left side of Hiliadou main no swimming suit beach spot. EXPLORING EVIA, Day 1 (MUST SEE!!!) - Chiliadou beach - Steni - Chalkida how it looks by night
Craving for a getway. We up early, packed our gear and drove away without really having decided where we 'll head to. Following the highway north, we came up with an idea to head to Chalkida City, capital of Evia Island, not more than 80 kms away from Athens. We booked our hotel room online to stay overnight, while driving there. Reaching Chalkida rather early, we had pleanty of time to explore the Nothern part of Evia, the side facing the Aegean archipelago, following the route crossing Evia from south to north and passing through the high mountain Dirfis, with its Alpic landscapes, the picturesque village of Steni and end up to Chiliadou beach. After sunset on our way back to Chalikida we stopped at Steni village to a fabulous tavern for dinner. By reaching Chalkida we reorganised ourselves and went out to stroll, enjoy the city by night and watch the opening of the older bridge which is an attraction to visitors. Unfortunatelly we had a dissapointing surprise...
Watch some rear aerial shots of the the Euripus Bridge or Chalcis Bridge, a 694.5 meters total length and a deck thickness of 45 cm, the thinner the world, cable-stayed suspension bridge opened in 1993 which joins Chalkida to the mainland.

Σε απόσταση μόλις 2 ωρών από το κέντρο της Αθήνας, μπορείτε να απολαύσετε τα πεντακάθαρα τιρκουάζ νερά του Αιγαίου, που λούζει την ανατολική ακτή της Κεντρικής Εύβοιας. Οι παραλίες που παρουσιάζονται στα πλάνα βρίσκονται κοντά στο χωριό Άγιοι Απόστολοι Ευβοίας και είναι οι ακόλουθες:
1) Η παραλία Χερόμυλος, που έχει ψιλό βότσαλο και άμμο. Αυτό το ψιλό λευκό βότσαλο προσδίδει στα νερά της ένα εκπληκτικό χρώμα όμοιο με αυτό που συναντάς σε παραλίες του Ιονίου.
2) Η παραλία Λιανή Άμμος, με τα ρηχά, φιλικά νερά της, χωρίζεται σε μικρές επιμέρους αμμουδιές.
Η ψιλή άμμος σε συνδυασμό με τα καταγάλανα της νερά, την κατατάσσουν σε μαγευτική παραλία. Ο καιρός δεν την πιάνει πολύ και η θάλασσα είναι σχετικά ρηχή.
Τα δέντρα που την περιβάλουν δημιουργούν μεγάλους χώρους σκίασης μόλις 10 μέτρα από το νερό. Είναι ιδανική για οικογένειες αφού η σχετικά ρηχή θάλασσα σε συνδυασμό με την σκιά που δημιουργούν τα ελαιόδεντρα αποτελούν την βασική επιλογή για την προστασία των νεότερων μελών τους.

Just two hours from the center of Athens, you can enjoy the crystal clear turquoise waters of the Aegean, which bathe the eastern coast of central Evia. Beaches presented in the footage are located near the village Agii Apostoli in Evia and are the following:
1) Cheromylos beach which has fine pebbles and sand. This fine white pebbles give to the water an amazing color similar to that met in Ionian beaches.
2) Liani Ammos beach, with shallow, friendly waters, divided into small individual beaches.
The fine sand in combination with the blue of the sea, makes it a magnificent beach.
The trees that surround it create large areas of shadow just 10 meters from the water. It is ideal for families as the relatively shallow sea in conjunction with the shadow created by the olive trees are the main option for the protection of their younger members.

Το Αγκίστρι βρίσκεται μόλις 55 λεπτά από τον Πειραιά και αποτελεί, ίσως, την καλύτερη
επιλογή για όποιον θέλει να κάνει διακοπές κοντά στη Αθήνα, συνδυάζοντάς τες με τις
δουλειές του ή για αυτόν που θέλει μονοήμερη ξεκούραση μέσα στο καλοκαίρι.
Αποτελεί έναν μικρό επίγειο παράδεισο του Αργοσαρωνικού, πνιγμένο στο πράσινο, με τα πεύκα να αγγίζουν τα καταγάλανα νερά του και προσφέρεται για υπέροχες καλοκαιρινές διακοπές και για χαλαρά, ξεκούραστα Σαββατοκύριακα. Είναι το τρίτο νησί στην Ελλάδα σε αναλογία πρασίνου (80%).
Η γενική εικόνα που παρουσιάζει το νησί είναι εντελώς διαφορετική από αυτή που παρουσιάζουν άλλα νησιά που κατακλύζονται από μαζικό τουρισμό. Στο Αγκίστρι θα βρείτε καταπράσινα πευκοδάση, αμμουδερές παραλίες, καταγάλανα νερά, παραδοσιακό χρώμα, ησυχία, γαλήνη, αλλά και έντονη νυχτερινή ζωή για όσους το επιθυμούν.
Ίσως είναι ένας από τους τελευταίους ρομαντικούς προορισμούς στην Ελλάδα που σιγά - σιγά αποτέλεσε πόλο έλξης και χώρο έμπνευσης πολλών καλλιτεχνών.
Το νησί διαθέτει πολλά όμορφα ξενοδοχεία και ενοικιαζόμενα διαμερίσματα ή δωμάτια, κατάλληλα και για οικογενειακές διακοπές.
Έχει δύο φυσικά λιμάνια στα οποία προσεγγίζουν τα πλοία. Το λιμάνι της Σκάλας και το λιμάνι του Μεγαλοχωρίου.
Η ΙΣΤΟΡΙΑ ΤΟΥ ΑΓΚΙΣΤΡΙΟΥ
Το Αγκίστρι μαζί με την Αίγινα και τα γύρω νησιά αποτέλεσαν το Βασίλειο της Αίγινας του μυθικού Βασιλιά Αιακού.
Κατά τον Όμηρο και τον Πλήνιο, το Αγκίστρι είχε την ονομασία Κεκρυφάλεια, που σημαίνει στολισμένη κεφαλή και εμφανίζεται σαν σύμμαχος της Αίγινας στον Τρωϊκό Πόλεμο.
Η ονομασία Αγκίστρι αποδόθηκε στο νησί, γιατί εξ' αιτίας του φυσικού του κάλλους γοήτευε τους ταξιδιώτες, πολλούς από τους οποίους αγκίστρωνε και έμεναν για πάντα στο νησί.
Άλλοι ιστορικοί που αναφέρονται στο νησί, στα συγγράμματά τους, είναι ο Θουκυδίδης και ο Διόδωρος.
Το μεγαλύτερο αρχαιολογικό ενδιαφέρον παρουσιάζουν η Απόνησος, η Μεγαρίτισσα και το Κοντάρι.
Σε όλη την δυτική ακτή του νησιού υπάρχουν, λίγο πιο κάτω από την επιφάνεια της θάλασσας, βυθισμένες αρχαιότητες, ενώ διάφορα αρχαιολογικά ευρήματα υπάρχουν στο Μεγαλοχώρι, στο Πνευματικό κέντρο. Τα ευρήματα αυτά φανερώνουν ότι το νησί πρωτοκατοικήθηκε τουλάχιστον από τον 5ο π.Χ. αιώνα.
Το νησί έχει διαπιστωθεί ότι κατοικείται από την πρωτοελλαδική μέχρι και την ελληνιστική εποχή. Αργότερα περιέρχεται στους Ρωμαίους και στους Βυζαντινούς. Με την πτώση του Βυζαντίου, μαζί με την υπόλοιπη Ελλάδα, γίνεται τμήμα της Οθωμανικής Αυτοκρατορίας.
Agistri is only 55 minutes from Piraeus and at a stone's throw from the island of Aegina.
It is a small heaven on earth situated at the Saronic Gulf, smothered in plants and trees, with pine trees touching its crystal blue waters.
The island's four communities (Megalochori - Skala - Limenaria - Metochi) are ideal for wonderful summer holidays and for relaxing, calm weekends.
In Agistri you will come across verdurous pine woods, sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, traditional colors, quietude, peacefulness and yet an intense nightlife according to the visitor's preference.
The general image with this island presents is completely different to the one presented by other islands which are overwhelmed with mass tourism. Perhaps is one of the last few romantic destinations in Greece.

Bele stene, beli šljunak u kombinaciji sa nestvarnim izgledom tirkiznog mora pružaju vam neponovljiv ugodjaj. Ovim spotom pokušao sam da vam prikažem deo toga ali verujte da je u prirodi sve mnogo lepše.

Chalkida the chief town of the island of Euboea in Greece, is situated on the strait of the Evripos at its narrowest point. The name is preserved from antiquity and is derived from the Greek word chalkos (copper, bronze), though there is no trace of any mines in the area.

THASSOS - PARADISE BEACH - NUDE BEACHES in GREECE
Paradise beach (Παράδεισος Παραλία) Thassos (Θάσος) is the most famous beach where nudists can also enjoy sea and sun, it is in the eastern part (left part when you look to the sea). The nudist area was free of people at the end of May, the water was warm enough for swimming and sunbathing. I recommend this part of the year for visiting Paradise Beach and the nude area in particular : )
