Pietrarubbia is a comune in the Province of Pesaro e Urbino in the Italian region Marche, located about 90 kilometres west of Ancona and about 45 kilometres southwest of Pesaro. It is home to an 11th-century castle which, according to tradition, is the ancestral home of the house of Montefeltro, rulers of the area in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

1. Forte di San Leo San Leo
The Fortress of San Leo is a castle on the border of the Romagna and Marche; the castle is best known as the site where Count Cagliostro died. It was one of the palaces owned by Federico da Montefeltro and his wife Battista Sforza and was a fortified, palatial retreat. It is now a museum.

This is our favorite place to stay in Florence. A block or so from the Arno, the Ponte Vecchio, and a quick walk to the Palazzo Vecchio, the Duomo, the Baptistery, and the Accademia. The hotel has the tallest private tower in Florence, left when in the 1400s the municipal government put a halt to the endless construction of ever-taller towers. There's a two-level patio on top from which you can see much of Florence.
