France: This company produces electricity out of cheese!
An innovative dairy company in the French Alps city of Albertville uses the remaining whey from its ricotta cheese, butter and lactose powder as a key component in the generation of electricity.
SOT, General Director of Valbio Francois Decker and cofounder of Savoie lactee (in French): After producing butter, ricotta and whey powder, there is still 90 percent of the whey left that we receive as a permeable, rich in lactose. The anaerobic digestion unit behind me, in which this bacteria works, will transform lactose into biogas; the biogas will be burnt in an eco-generation engine and we will produce electricity [from this process].
SOT, President of Beaufort Producers Union Yvon Bouchet (in French): It is a company that represents the future for us because we produce the energy that we consume. It is also a major ecological project because we recover all alimentary potential in whey, we recover the cream to make butter, proteins for baby and athletes food; and after, with anaerobic digestion, we will use the leftovers and throw away only water into the river behind us.
SOT, President of Beaufort Producers Union Yvon Bouchet (in French): We reduce the transportation costs, passing from 800,000 kilometres to 70,000 kilometres of truck [usage], which translates into 150,000 euro in savings. Also, we produce 105,000 euro of electricity which we resell to our providers and we re-buy the electricity we need. But in the end, we produce more energy than we consume.

Nos 4 joueuses motivées ont rencontrés pour commencer Pipriac. Notre jeu se met progressivement en place mais ce ne fut pas suffisant pour accrocher au score. Grâce à de jolis services, nous les mettons derrière nous au 2eme set mais ce ne sera pas suffisant.
Face à Janzé Corps Nuds, nous nous battons plus, finalisons de beaux points et quelques aces nous permettent de nous retrouver au tie-break.
Malheureusement nous subissons une série de services que nous n’arrivons pas à jouer.
Ce fut un bon plateau avec une équipe qui doit encore travailler son collectif mais les immenses progrès leur permettent d’espérer en de prochaines victoires !!!
