Kobyletska Poliana is an urban-type settlement in Rakhiv Raion of Zakarpattia Oblast in western Ukraine. The town's population was 3,392 as of the 2001 Ukrainian Census. Current population: 3,481 . The settlement was first mentioned in 1672 as Kabola Poliana . In 1891, the population of the town was 1,406 and consisted of Hungarians and Rusyns. In 1910, the settlement was a part of the Kingdom of Hungary, and had a population of 1,832 inhabitants, a mixture of Rusyns, Hungarians, and Germans. In 1941, the town's Jewish population was 427.     The Uzh is a river in Ukraine and Slovakia. Its name comes from the ancient west Slavic dialect word už, meaning Snake, . The Uzh River is a tributary of the Laborets River, a river that flows in the Tysa Lowland in Transcarpathia oblast of western Ukraine. The river feeds numerous industries and is a source of drinking water and irrigation as well. It also has a hydropower station on it. Several important cities lie along its course, including Uzhhorod.It is 127 km long, of which 21.3 km are in Slovakia. It flows into the Laborec river near the city of Drahňov in the Michalovce District . The Ukrainian city of Uzhhorod and the semi-ruined Nevitske Castle are situated by the Uzh. The river forms part of the Slovakia–Ukraine border for about 1.5 km near the village of Pinkovce.
